March 13 @5PM, Sunday Showdown @ ProKart in Burnsville

Talked to someone at ProKart and I have everything set to go for another Sunday Showdown. I've also posted this on MNAudi and EvoMN so a list of people is already growing.

- At ProKart Indoors in Savage/ Burnsville
- $30- $35 per person
- Sunday, March 13th
- 5PM, will probably go for 2 hours
- They'll weigh everyone & determine an avg. Anyone under the target gets weight ballasts to even the playing field.
- Format is either elimination races or endurance format.
- Elimination format would be practice, qualifying races, elimination races, maybe an LCQ, then a final. Everyone for themselves.
- Endurance would be practice, short timed qualifying races, then one long final race. This would be two-person teams. One person starts, makes a pit stop midway, then the other person finishes. Teams would be determined as follows:

Say 20 people show up. All 20 people race in timed qualifying. The top 10 fastest and 10 slowest are determined. Say I'm the fastest; I pick a poker chip from a bucket, on which a kart # is written; #1 for example. The other 9 fastest also choose poker chips, then all chips are put back in the bucket. Then the 10 slowest people choose poker chips. Say you're the slowest person; you choose the poker chip with #1 on it and blammo, we're a team.

Ugh, I hope I heal up before then. Snowmobiling this past Saturday beat the hell out of my body and my shoulder is not enjoying life at the moment.

Bah, suck it up. There'll be a lot of Audi guys there so we need a good representation of Mitsu ricers to show them up.

Is that a random comment or are you going to come?

I haven't gotten many replies for preferred format, so my thinking is we'll kind of play it by ear: if we have an odd number of people racing, we do elimination format; if we have an even number, we do the endurance format with teams.

If the team format is chosen make sure that there are fast guys matched with slow guys, so there should be some sort of qualifying event. Like the fastest guy would get matched with the slowest guy, next fastest with next slowest and so on.

^^^ The first post explains how ProKart determines teams; it's not my suggestion, it's what they told me they always do. People could certainly cheat and sandbag their qualifying, but I'd hope no one would stoop to that level for something like this.

I learned that you shouldn't be nice to everyone, and was just average.

No problem at all; I had a blast too. If there's enough momentum, I'm happy to organize these on a more regular basis.

Playing follow the leader can help a lot and I'm always happy to give tips, at least until you start winning.
