You'll actually watch the gas gauge drop on the highway! They have trouble going over 80mph and they like to roll over alittle too much. They are fun, but it's just a miata that can't corner...

Re: Jeep Wranglers

Yeah, for a daily driver they aren't too great. I had a buddy that I used to commute with that had one. The thing was squirrelly as hell in the snow (too short) and was always cold inside because of all the drafts and lack of insulation. It was a blast in the summer though! I wouldn't have one as a daily, but as a toy it would be very cool.

yup, cold in the winter, not so great in the snow (for daily driving), and sucky gas milage. Go for it!

Re: Jeep Wranglers

On the v6 verson the gas milage can't be all that bad. lol

Crappy in the snow can be fixed with proper tires and driving.

Cold in the winter? Well this one does bite, maybe keep the 1.8 for winter duties. But then what will I drop the v8 into? lol j/k

Re: Jeep Wranglers

Well, it doesn't have a V6! It is an I6 and it is a great motor.

The wheel base is sooo short that tires won't fix it.

Re: Jeep Wranglers

I'm assuming that the 6 cylinder is the same thing that is in the Cherokee's. My Dad's '99 Cherokee has had zero issues with it after 12X,XXX miles of which at least 50,000 are hard gravel driving.

Re: Jeep Wranglers

I'm not worried about mileage as much when I saw the one up here which was like 2 or 3 years old with 400k on it. lol

Re: Jeep Wranglers

I've driven one with 33" tires on it. It wobbled down the road, felt on the edge of control at all times. They're torquey, can go where a lot of cars can't, but I can't imagine having one for a daily driver.

Same as everyone else... Bad DD, but a fun car. On the freeway they feel like they have a mind of their own.

Re: Jeep Wranglers

I drove on for a year and a half through winter and all. As long as you are in 4wd, any idiot can drive one straight on snow or ice. I drove a 03 SE with a 4 banger and a soft top. Soft top is noisy like mentioned above. In the winter, getting in the car is cold but the heater more that makes up for it when the car is warmed up. After a few minutes, I would have to turn the heat down. The nice thing about a soft top in the winter is, all you have to do is shut the doors and all the snow falls off the sides. Due to the slope, it doesn't stick that much to the windshield. Great resale, poor relaibility (talking to mechanics and looking at consumer reports). The only problem we had was a vibration issue where the aftermarket wheels were not balanced. A steering shock went out but was under warranty. I have heard that Charakees are very reliable but the opposite for older wranglers. I dealt with one in warranty though... Chrysler would not warranty the tires not being balanced when we bought the car new from them with American Racing wheels. We had to take the thing to Sameritan Tire and pay $40 as the dealer could not static balance them. That is about it.
