Ok so i just got home from the meet tonight and it was fun as hell until the end.
So i get to the valley and meet up with everyone, like 28 modded DSMs, very sweet. Scott Grey that recieved 3rd place in the Sport Compact Car: Street Car Showdown contest last year, was there with his very sweet 1g, honestly this car rocked. I have pics that i will post up tomarrow. Anyways we go in to eat with 35 people food was good.
Then we decide to go on a Canyon run. Lemme explain what this is for people that dont know. Here in CA we have a lot of mountains and a lot of canyons, a canyon run is basically a tight very curvy road that has 200 ft drop offs with no guard rails. we are talking rally without the dirt, with more curves (or just as many).
I am behind Scott who is the leader, so im 2nd with about 13 more DSMs, an evo and a bike. we get to the first major corner going about 50 MPH and didnt realise that what lies ahead is a pretty much 145 degree turn, i slam on the brakes and slide through it then slam on the gas and pull through, pretty nice for my first canyon run. we continue on going around 60-70 Mph through banking curves and straight aways, all of the sudden i look back and realise that me and scott are the only ones running, i flash my lights at him and we pull over. then the white EVO comes bolting up and says the worst thing that could come to my mind at the moment. "THE BIKE WENT OFF!!!" my heart dropped i reluctantly asked "where?" he told me the bike didnt make the first turn, the really bad thing is that this was at the top of the canyon, so the drop the bike went down was the full 200 ft... NO GOOD. we gased it back to where everyone had pulled over and i asked where the bike and biker were, and they all replied hes still there, and no one was with him??? so we went back to find him and see if he was alright and what not. the evo stayed with a couple others while the rest of us left (its better for us to not be in the way when the ambulance comes.) we met up at a gas station, one of the guys that stayed called one of the guys that came back and said that the biker is moving and thinks he just broke his ankle. HUGE SIGH OF RELEIF, granted the bike was trashed, but at least the biker was ok.
after that we went home, im not sure the status of the biker as of yet but im sure i will know soon.
All in all the canyon run was fucking sweet, just wished i could have done it more. now i see what the rally guys are raving about, but its more fun to go through mountains then go through trees.
