Thanks!! We run a rallycrosses once a month. Basically it's an autocross on an unpaved (snow, Ice, Gravel parking lot, farmers field, etc.) surface.
As far as PRORally races (the ones where the competitors are doing 100+mph thru the woods, we have 3 of those a year up north. The next one is August 27-28th in Bemidji. For these races they need fully caged and prepared cars. I am on the organizing comittee for the ones here in MN. It's free to watch and free to volunteer to help. Nothin beats volunteering to help with the rally so you can get up close and personal. If you only go up to spectate, we have to corral you up to one of the 2-3 "designated spectator points". If you want to go anywhere else and watch, you have to volunteer to work the race. There's no experience necessary and it's very easy. You can even get to go out and drive down part of the course before any of the competitors do if you help out with bannering (course setup and takedown). That's my role on the comittee. I organize everyone to go out and get the banner tape up out in the forest.
If you are interested and want more info, goto
www.scca-lol.org (LOL stands for Land O Lakes) and click on the Performance Rally tab. From there you can find the schedules, how to sign up to volunteer, where it's gonna be, who's in the lead for points, etc. Or just PM me and I can help you out with any questions you have.
