Spent all day installing cop system with aem c2di and everything fine, but how do I check actual timing with timing light without plug wire or more importantly how do I dyno. How do other cars with cop get timing checked. With adapter or probe maybe. I want to dyno with cop. I have been looking every where on internet, this is odd and I am confused, anyone? :headache:

The inductive pickup should still read the signal, just experiment with placement.I've had luck just placing the pickup on top of the COP coil.If that doesn't work, Snap On makes application specific COP clips for their Kilovolt module, you could adapt one for a timing light.

I had to do this for my 240 a while back. Take one of your old plug wires, and cut it in half. Make sure it's a plug wire that works. Use the end that goes on the plug, and put it on the plug. Stick the other end into your coil. It should still run fine, if it doesn't, then it isn't hooked up right. Then you just put the pickup around the plug wire, and check your timing.

I'm sure there's better, more sophisticated ways of doing it, but this one is free and it seems to work just fine.
