Was at the Cub foods on University yesterday, left the car and doubled back to make sure my alarm was set and doors were locked. The plate was on the car when I went back, went into the store for 20 miniutes. When I came back out I found that the license plate and the plastic clips that hold it on were completely ripped out. I had just put new tabs on it friday afternoon. So I was wondering if I call the police, and do I have to pay to replace it?

Matt

I dont think you do. Especially considering it wasnt your fault. But whoever was the lowlife that did it, if and when they get busted, they are in serious fuckin trouble.

I will bet money that whoever did it took it for the tabs. Call the police as soon as you can and report it. Unfortunately you may have to pay for new tabs. Let us know.

Well I called the Police today and they cannot do anything about it, the lady told me to meet an officer at cub foods to make a report. I get to cub and she calls me back and said she was sorry and that she was new and did not know that they cannot send officers out for license plate theft unless you saw who did it. She did give me a number to call to report it, but not open till monday.

Definetely report the license plate missing asap, due to the point above. Either it's for a stolen car or it's to be used for a robbery, or it's for the tabs.

Unfortunetly they'll make you pay for new tabs ($8), and probably a new license plate. The government will have the same additude like the rest of us. "I didn't do it why should I pay for it" - same thing apply with them it's not there fault either so I'm thinking you're out of luck.

Might be time to check into customized license plates if you have to replace them anyways.

That shits so gay. But I think the robbery thing is actually a possibility. But you can get in some serious shit if you get caught stealin plates.
