How about an HKS external wastegate under boost. That is something. These bovs vented to atmosphere are week.

Both are nice to hear, but I cant hear bov under load because I plum back into intake so I dont screw short term fuel trims. The external wastegate consumes all identifiable noise under load. I happen to like the robust sound of exhaust and external wastegate. Most bov's vented to atmosphere sound silly and I suppose people will disagree because most do not have external wastegate or big turbo where it may be needed. This is just an opinion and I am giving my 2 cents. I enjoyed the video's. I also agree that tail sounds nice. :3gears:

I dont have a external wastegate but I do have an o2 dump... which I hear is louder than a external dump do to the straight piping.

Like I said, external wastegate consumes all identifiable noise under load with my set up. Now that I think, I dont even recall ever riding in a car with one other then mine. Ofcourse many have external wastegates. Actually I think I have only been in 2 other eclipese's. Now that is sad. Actually I think it is sad that I have really not met many on this forum. Only made appearance at dsm cookout last year. Wish I could afford AEM stand alone. I am broke. :headache:

I'm not one for the sound of BOVs really either, but I thought I'd post it up as many are curious.

I am with JasonR, I have a fairly large turbo and I cannot really hear the bov much at all. When I was on the 16g, the thing seemed loud even with a o2 dump. I am running an external wastegate plumbed back in and the bov is hard to notice because of the deep engine sound. I like the benifits of a larger turbo. No pssshhhhhht on every shift. I have had a hks ssqv, blitz supre sound (on now), 1g crushed, and a greddy type-s bovs. I don't car much for the sounds.

Do you like the Blitz? The others you listed should perform better than it, if I've heard correct reviews.

I was fine with all of them. I started out with a 1g (ofcourse). Then I got the HKS ssqv. I hated that because my car couldn't idle for shit venting. I wasn't to proud of the chicken call sound either. I sold that and bought the Blitz. For some reason I thought you could plumb it back in but I would have to make another fitting to do so. My car liked to vent that better than the HKS. A FMIC kit I bought came with the greddy type-s but the piping only bolted up to a 14b/16g turbo. Well that turbo was being swapped out at the same time so I made a ghetto lower ic pipe and flanged it for a 1g bov as I had the flange. I liked venting the blitz over the 1g so I still have it on. I think the bov is ok. I liked the sound over the HKS but the sound isn't heard much anymore. The BOV has worked great for me.
