EVOJ's 03 Evo VIII build

I should have posted this earlier but I've just been so slammed with work I just haven't had time my bad guys & girls.
So my boy and I had a blast in the cruise, I really regret the no hotel reservation but after mysteriously losing reverse we thought it would be best just to roll home and park the whips and hit our favorite watering hole.
So on our way home I needed fuel stopped at a Spur station in Cloquete, Mn and got E85 and my boy premium, well as soon as we left I got kind've a Shitty misfire didn't think much of it and only happend at high boost 22psi or more so just drove normally got home parked proceed to drink 95 beers stumbled my dumb ass home, Sunday hit went to Vikings game proceed to drink 55 more beers at $9.00 beer day "FUCK really lower you beer prices Target Field" but my boy drove.
Monday hits and I had a bunch of work shit to take care of which lasted the better part of the day so around 4pm my intention was to run up to DB see if they could help me out in the reverse dept. and if need be just drop it off and let them work their magic. I start my Evo and instantly its running like shit miss firing and what not let it warm up push out of my garage get down the road I get to co.rd 81 and hemlock light turns green motor does some funky jolting I get passed the light at like 5 psi boost and BOOM motor blows "Thinking AWSOME now I have to tow this shit home and then back to DB along with many many many swear words.
So I call a tow truck request a flat bed and told them my special car needs to get on said flat bed, Special thanks to City Wide Towing for having wood planks or it just would have never worked Thankyou City Wide. Anywho I make a call to BD Shouts out to Anna and Danny at DB for sticking around a little late for my bumdass to put my Evo in the shop and let them know what I was thinking Thankyou so much guys.
So I ask Danny if he can test fuel and that I have a feeling this is fuel related and to get back to me, a day passes and Danny calls telling me I had E48 and definitely fuel related issue.
So with a blown 2.0 what to do? Danny asked, at this time our evil minds start diversing a plan and throwing ideas at one another, he asked my expectations what I'd like to see for HP numbers I told him no more Fucking around basically if I'm going to do this might as well go all out and build it proper.
So he hatched a build of a fully built 2.3 motor Manley pistons, rings, valves, crank, headwork, you name it its being done and wth a FP Black turbo, and sticking with an E85 tune.
So looking at a $15,000 build I had to try and turn this into insurance to try and cover the act of god of getting Shitty fuel, insurance came looked and approved and the build is underway.
Since being so slammed at work I've just gotten phone call updates from Danny such as motor is completely out, the head came by untouched "Thank God" things looking good. I really never gave them a time line all I said would love to have it back by Spring Cruise and that I didn't want them to rush perfection.
So stay tuned pics and more build info to come.

E48 WTF! I think I got fuel at the same spot and had no issues......you sure you filled at the e85 pump?

I can't believe insurance covered this! Kinda awesome but after seeing you beat the crap outta that thing I hope my rates don't go up as a result

Yeah E85 pump closest to the road saved receipt gallons pump # and fuel type put in and time of day ect., insurance is only covering half basically what it would cost for a 2.0. Also I've been babying this car since I got it so when you saw me doing flybys it was the first time to see what it could do "we've all done it" but I just thought if it were to fall apart what better time then with a bunch of other Evo owners that could possibly help out.

Wow you really lucked out with insurance covering that. Do you have some sort of mechanical failure insurance? I guess I have never heard of such a thing with regular car insurance even with full coverage.

This car just likes to eat motors doesn't it!

Full coverage yes, and yes I do pay more in my policy for mechanical failure, act of god type stuff that could happen, so its not like I'm taking advantage of the system to screw with everyone's rates I actually pay out my Ass for all my rides to be fully insured and covered no matter what.
