Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
Saw this...incredibly awesome! $5M to a charity, especially one of Obama's choosing, is a very generous offer and disregarding it will make it very clear he has something to hide.

My thoughts exactly... But I agree with Justin. I usually am not a fan of Trump but I actually like his idea here.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
My guess is Trump obviously thinks he knows something that Obama doesn't want to release because if Obama were to oblige it would most likely give him a bump in the polls for two reasons, 1. the charitable donation aspect, and 2. clearing up the uncertainty surrounding the whole issue.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
Obama will never take this, but it's funny calling him out. Especially after the administration was so adament about Romney showing his tax returns, I'd love to see some transperancy from our president, but it will never happen.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
My personal opinion, again my personal opinion, is that after Obama is out of office (whether it be January 2013 or 2017) something will come out proving that he was ineligible to hold office in the first place. There is just too much uncertainty surrounding the issue for me to think there isn't something someone is attempting to hide.

No kidding; least transparent president in US history, and if he's reelected it'll get even worse since at that point he'll have nothing to lose.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
Donald trump is a fucking idiot. Obama should just ignore him.
If obama accepts, and AGAIN nothing comes out, then he would show that he can be bought, If he rejects, it says hes heartless towards charities.
Only donald trump could make something bad out of something good. Worthless human being.

Ignore an offer for a $5M charitable donation? With the current condition of our economy there are a lot of charities that have been badly hurt due to decreasing donations and can use any help they can get. For example, imagine if it were to a large metropolitan food bank. Do you know how many mouths that would feed?

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
For example, I participated in a charity event last weekend that raised $525 for the North Texas Food Bank, that $525 will feed a single mother and her 3 children for an entire month. That breaks down to $1.46/meal; dividing the $5M by that would provide 3,428,571 complete and nutritious meals to the needy.
This is just one example of how far the money could really go in an organization that I do a lot with. There are many more just like it and tons of other great examples on how this money could truly impact society right here at home in a beneficial way.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
In my eyes, it has nothing to do with Obama being bought. You need to look at the bigger picture here like Kracka is saying.
It would be HUGE if he actually came through and did this but I doubt it will happen.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
No matter what happens Faux news and the GOP will make it look like obama is weak. I would love to see a Dem come out and say "Ill give a charity 5 million if donald trump finally kills that damn squirrel thats been sitting on his head for years"
Its hilarious that Trump thinks he can come out and insult the president, wrapped around demands that have nothing to do with the president of the united states job, and think Obama will actually cave. He sits there and says he wants the long form birth certificate, obama releases them, and he is still unsatisfied. Say obama meets these demands? What do you think will happen? I will tell you exactly what will happen, Trump will make up some lie that they were doctored or are false in some way, no money will be distributed, and people will be pissed off no matter what.
I stand by my statement, Ignore this idiot and focus on the next 4 years.

Re: Donald Trump calls out Obama
I'll be honest, I'm disappointed in you, Tom. I honestly though you would see that no matter what this is something that could, politics aside, help the greater good.
Besides, these demands have everything to do with the job of President of the United States of America and honestly should have been dealt with 4+ years ago rather than letting it drag on this long.

I wouldnt be disappointed with me, Im not stupid, im not like the GOP taking their "Leaders" at their word thinking that it is all fine and dandy. Trump is a showman, he craves attention like a drug. He will not just give out $5 million unless there is something he can pin the president to, or make it feel like the president is lying.
You will notice in his statement "I got the president to release his long form birth certificate OR WHATEVER THAT WAS" In other words, it was a false birth certificate and nothing short of the video of obamas birth on the white house steps will satisfy that he is a citizen. Its going to be the same thing if obama releases his transcripts and passport logs. it will not satisfy him and he will say that obama didnt keep up his end of the bargain, therefore the check will not go out.
If you truely believe there isnt an ulterior motive to this, i have a bridge in new hamshire i would like to sell you.

Obama probably will be doing exactly this as he watches Mitt Romney fix his shit.
