So what happens when an officer pulls you over at night, states that your license is invalid. Then you call his bluff, call the DMV hotline, type in your DL number and it comes up as valid? Any guesses? You get a ticket for an invalid license, and a court date if you wish to contest it. FML!!!

Also, I was initially pulled over for "speeding" when he stated I was going 40MPH where the speed limit is 55. Seriously dude, nothing better to do at night. Then when I asked if he would be there for the court date, he said only if I appear infront of the judge and file a subpoena for him to be there on a following date.

He also said that he disliked vets "who come back from Iraq thinking they are all think they are untouchable" after seeing my VA ID in my wallet. I obviously asked him WTF he meant by that, and he walked away saying he would be right back. First off, I was specwar Navy, and only deployed to Iraq theater one fucking time. Secondly, who in the hell says something like that. Finally, my DL is valid, and I proved that. He would not show a damn thing to support his claim, which I KNOW can be done. My sons god father is a state partol officer, and he has printed shit off infront of me when I have done ride alongs with him for kicks. My blood is seriously boiling right now.

My wife was in the car, and witnessed it all go down. He gave no explanation for the reason that his "system" showed an invalid DL, and I have not been pulled over in a long ass time for anything. Contacting an attorney tomorrow, and going to bat for this one.

Update: I just went to the DVS website, and checked my status. Valid. No prior reports on record, which goes back only two years.

Print off copies of those reports and document everything you can remember about the stop. Lose the attitude and pour on a few gallons of respectful facts with a pinch of sugar you will have no problems in court.

Thats the one thing I hate about cops. They can write you a ticket for anyhthing with no reason. Then you have to waste your time fighting it. If a cop doesnt write enough tickets for one shift they get a bunch of crap. the law is differnt to every cop.

I wouldn't even bother with an attorney, the judges are usually very fair. They will toss this out in a heartbeat. I would also use his badge number and file a complaint about him.

There are two different issues here. Like Jet said, as far as the ticket goes there's really no reason for an attorney. Get a copy of the report and simply show that he was wrong. The judge will dismiss it if they have 1/2 a brain.

The second, separate, issue is officer dickheads behavior. This, you may want to consult an attorney about how to proceed.

This had to have been in Princeton.

This kind of bullshit always happens there. Getting pulled over for "speeding" when going under the speed limit, taillights that don't work (that actually do), etc. My father in law was fire chief in Princeton for 15 years, and a part time cop for 6 years. The corruption there is unbelievable. Good luck in court.

is the guys badge number listed on the ticket he gave you. Its actually probably good he gave you a ticket, that way you have his name and badge number to file a complaint. I wouldnt bother with the attorney, but fight it all the way. Then If the judge actually lets this go through to an actual court proceeding, you will be able to put the officer on the stand and get his comments and findings on record, as well as put your wife on the stand, (remember she is under oath, so ask everything you ever wanted to know, hahaha)

I wouldn't be surprised if you show up to court and they have no record of you ever being pulled over, I used to get messed with real bad up in Duluth and Cloquet and there has been literally like 5 times I've been pulled over and gotten tickets, went to jail, gotten vehicals impounded and show up to court thinking I'm gonna get gonna get say in and complain about the usual BS circumstances surrounding my stop and they just tell me they have no record of me ever being stopped. I didn't get my car impounded and go to jail for nothing lol. I'm so used to getting f-ed over by cops I'm just happy now when I go to jail for BS tickets that vanish into thin air I usually get out a day or two later and I'm just stuck getting my car out of impound. The best was last winter in Cloquet getting stopped and getting searched and them finding $4500 cash on me cuz I was on my way to buy a 96 tsi awd and being accused of being a drug dealer and going to jail just so they have a reason to seize all my cash, I got it figured out like a month later and straightened everything out but still a hassle. Fuck crooked cops, just reading your post has my blood boiling lol.

Great news. I have gotten ahold of the state, and the Sgt of the officer that wrote the ticket. They both pulled up all my info, and it is showing valid. The Sgt apologized for the issue and the officers behavior, and is contacting the court admin to let them know that he and I spoke, and is going to bat for me on this. He said to follow up with them here in about an hour, and to explain the situation to them. He said that they may drop the ticket, but if not, he will personally appear on my court date and help me get it dropped.

I was pulled over in princeton by a unmarked car. Then 4 marked cars showed up. Asked me to get out of my car and searched it. They thought I was running drugs. When I asked them why they stopped me he said "a person called in about a African American male smoking a marijuana cigar and driving" I told them it was a black and mild. Showed them the box and asked if I could go.

White people and black people have a different out look on cops. Not to sound rascist. But I know a lot of cops that have harrased my family members. But at the same time who do you call when in need ? I harbor no bad feelings towards cops. You get dicks in every culture, job, race, and creed, just smile and kill them with kidness and go about your day........

Glad to hear the situation resolved itself.

I don't know what kind of man would say some shit like that about anyone in the Military. Maybe they were the guys that ran home crying during the first day of boot camp.

I was pulled over and the cop thought I was high (I'm of ninja decent). Then proceeded to asked if the pack of cigarettes was really cigarettes. This was in Dakota county, Burnsville to be specific.

The other day, up here in st.cloud, some guy asked for directions to a motel 6 from me while at a stoplight and I didn't know where it was cause I don't stay at ratty places. He said, "oh, and I thought you weren't high." And drove off. (Not a cop but still, grow the fuck up)

I'm glad that Diversity classes need to be taken in colleges as a Gen. Ed. Some people are just ridiculous.

All in all. I love all people. But I especially love the white girls!
