The 2007 Cookout Recap!

Well I figured I'd give everyone a place to recap on the event. I stopped by for a short while with Jana and have a few thoughts on it.

First, Curt, you do a remarkable job with this event. Everyone who surrounds you putting this together should be thanked over and over. Just driving by the first time you can see the huge turnout and large number of people having a good time.

There was a lot of nice cars there, many of which I can say I have no clue who they are. Then I also saw some old timers rides still in tact as well. I think I even saw Chris Johnson wandering around today at the cookout. He put the first DSM mod on my car 8 years ago when I was a Newb.

Some nice paint jobs and overall you can see many people still care about giving love to a 17 year old car. The only thing I don't think I cared for was the select cars bump'n the tunes. Call me old, but I wanted to stab the speakers.

Nice to see Johns Galant out there today, can't wait to see it running. Did MAP ever show up? I didn't see any of the crew, nor either car (blue 1G and RX7). Love seeing Mark's Evo again and again. lol And i must saw, Scheides EVO actually looked like he washed it over and over again. That fuck'er was clean!

Can't wait to get back in the game again (it's coming soon)!

A bunch of us owned the 3rd place awards.

Myself, Ass Hanson, and TKR, all took 3rd in our categories. Ylimert won 1st, and so did Ricer Pete! Was great seeing everyone. Time to bathe in some aloe!

Where were you, I was there all day and didn't see the two of you.

Curt and the gang put on a good show. You really can't beat the price.

I swear it was around 230 right before the slow race when MAP showed up. I got 2nd place for the 2Gs. It was a great show.

Wish I could have made it but my Talon is at Roseville Chrysler getting a new transfer case (coming up on week 3 without it...). Sounds like I missed out on a good event.

Re: The 2007 Cookout Recap!

Hey guys,

Great time today. We had a HUGE turnout. I think the official car count was 166! That doesn't include spectator only cars. I'll have some pics and more details later.

Time to rest..

Re: The 2007 Cookout Recap!

I had a great time! I'm so glad I went. It felt good to actually see people looking at my car and not just walking by it. Is there a seperate thread for pics, or are we posting them in this thread?
