Im going to Powercruise and I would like to know who here on the Forum is going to be at the event, If your going could you post a picture of your car on this thread so I know who's cars to look for at the event, as I would like to meet some of the Forum members.
Unfortunately I will not be bringing my car because Im in the process of doing a full restore to the eclipse.

^^Looks like anything but weaksauce IMO. They've been playing ads on 93X and everything and tons of advertising. Probably be a much better turnout than I heard forum wars was.
That being said, I wouldn't want to bring my car out there with people driving crazy all over the place LOL

I'd rather have less cars and more drive time than more cars and less drive time. Especially when tech. takes 2 hours. I really wish my car would've made it there. Hopefully next time.
Ya there might be a moderate turn out. But quality is way better than quantity. Have you looked through the PC literature? Off street drags are being held on the road course, not the drag strip. No drifting, only short fish tales. No burnouts, no passing in corners, etc. They make it look cool on their adverts. But look at the driver's meeting video.

I don't think there will be any Turbo mustangs there to crash in to you lol!!!
1. You can do frum rolls on 694 and don't have to pay to do them at BIR
2. Speed limit during the event is 90mph
3. No lights or time clocks
4. Too many days to around the ricekiller fan club
5. Car craft will be better
6. Costs a lot
7. Burnout contests have always been gay

The couple of rules they DO have are in place to keep people and their cars safe. I have spent a fair bit of time with the Aussies who put this event on and its definitely not like anything we have ever seen before. In Australia they build their cars to enjoy them, its less about competition and more about being with like minded car enthusiasts and having a safe controlled environment (unlike 694) to the do the stupid things we all love to do.
As a spectator I would much rather watch high horsepower cars get beaten on then go to a car show. Its all personal preference but imho car craft is not all that exciting.
While I'd love to be proven otherwise, I have to say with all those rules I question the very point of this event.

I would suggest that might be because Australia is allegedly the world's biggest nanny state, and if they tried half of the shit we get away with here on the street, their 'military' would be dispensed to deal with such criminal behavior...

Actually... I was there Fri and Sat since I won a free entry Wednesday night at the drags at BIR. It was actually a lot of fun. The "speed limit" on the track was 100 during the cruise, but wasn't enforced unless you did something stupid. The arm drop races were fun too-beating the big HP muscle cars because they couldn't hook at all was amusing.
The burnouts was people doing doughnuts.
I dunno, I thought it was pretty cool.
For anyone that was there, I was in the wingless, debadged silver Evo 9.

so did anyone go??? I tell you what it was the best car event I have ever been to. Just so you know the speed limit was 100 and they did not enforce it at all. I hit 125 130 every time around.

Anybody got more vids? This event sounds sorta fun but lots of opportunity for stupid ish to happen. Looks like nobody had to wear helmets or anything? What other safety requirements were there?

I'll probably be at MAP tonight. I grew up in Cambridge, but now I'm in the Army and live in Kentucky. I'm just back in MN for a couple weeks on leave.
Edit:
For the "cruise" around the track you just had to have the loose stuff out of the car, occupants didn't need helmets.
For the drag racing, drifting, and "power skids"(normal burnouts for us) you had to have long pants, sleeves and a helmet.
