SEIZED Coilover Perch

I need someone to throw out some advice. This is in the PARKING LOT forum because it's not a DSM.

I've got some Tein HA's on my sc300. I went to lower the rear sleeves about 2 inches, and after 2 hours, only got the bottom of the 2 perches to loosen up. The upper perch is stuck... seized. The main problem is the lip to grab onto is 1/2 as thick as the lower one so the coilover wrench doesnt even fit in there securely, it keeps slipping out... I've tried:

Big ass Pipe Wrench
the Tein Spanner wrenches with extensions and a socket for leverage
Hammer and flathead
wd40 soaked...

Haven't tried:
PB Blaster
Torch

ANYYYYYY SUGGESSTTIONNNSSSS!?!??!?!?!? Help?

Put the WD40 away, get PB Blaster. Seriously will make a big difference. Then repeat previous steps after a good soaking!

^^I will hafta try that. It was after 9pm last night when I gave up so it was too late to get PB Blaster. I ended up just saying FML for the night since my alignment appointment was at 7pm yesterday......

I certainly hope that appointment wasn't with Jeff, or you're never getting another one...

Re: SEIZED Coilover Perch

When I had my Ksports on the sleeve seized to the shock body itself. I had to put the sleeve in a huge bench vice by steering knuckle mounts, then applied a LOT of heat to the sleeve itself. I then used a big channel lock pliers and grabbed onto the shock itself (yes, where the threads are) and used all of my weight (me gripping the pliers and bouncing on it with my weight) and then pressing up from underneath as hard as I could.

It ended up coming loose and the problem was that the aluminum had corroded and that white powder was everywhere. I took it all apart, cleaned it good and put antiseize everywhere. I'm guessing you will have to do the same sort of thing. PB Blaster or WD40 did NOT penetrate that area at all, heat was the only thing that did anything.
