Brought home my new DD today.
Goodbye Saables

Hello SUV! I'm really going to miss the Saab, and I love cars over trucks. But it came down to the simple fact that it can not tow anything, and I needed something that could tow my boat, and the talon here and there on occasion if need be. Not really sure if this is an upgrade or downgrade from the Saab, but I needed something that could tow, and I wanted to spend about the same as I felt I can get for the Saab. I did my research for a long time before deciding on the Trailblazer/Envoy/9-7x/Rainer/Bravada platform. But that's what I decided on because it was basically the best bang for the buck I could find. Plus I used my dads TB last year to tow the boat so I know the platform is up to the task.
So here she is. It's a GMC Envoy SLT. Here's some quick tidbits about it:
Charcoal Metallic paint, Grey Leather interior (heated front seats), moonroof, Blingin Chrome rims and ballin woodgrain accents! Brand new tires, Bose stereo setup, blah blah blah who cares. It's in great shape. Only thing is I hate GM's leather. So someday I will more than likely be getting some Katzkin replacement covers... someday...
Anyhow on to the pics. Sorry it's real dark out and I did the best I could with my fairly basic digi cam:

Re: Brought home my new DD today.
I already have a small mod list for it to get it how I want, haha.
-Slight tint to rear tails
-HID's
-Weathertech Front Floor Mats
-Resonator delete with chrome tip coming out pass side
-Install Some Running Boards
-Look into some towing mods (tranny cooler, weight dist hitch, etc)
-Install Auto Start
-Add some Denali accessories (grill, shift knob, steering wheel)
-Amp/Sub
-Possibly consider some Katzkin covers to replace these ones in the future because
GM's leather is lacking a bit in my opinion.
Not gunna happen overnight, but over time hopefully. I'd like it in the end to look a lot like the Denali's do, and with a few tasteful mods.

Re: Brought home my new DD today.
Nice! And I agree with you that GM's leather sucks. Even the leather in the higher end Caddy's kinda sucks.

Re: Brought home my new DD today.
My Saab's leather was so nice. This things leather has absolutely no texture to it. Makes it very slippery, and very plastic feeling. Oh well, someday in the future I will look at getting some new covers, but that is honestly probably the last thing on the list unless I stumble upon a killer deal.

Looks good B-man. I didn't know you were trading in the Saab as well, that makes it easier.

Good idea on the auto start, but why make it louder? It's your DD, won't that get annoying?

I didn't trade it in, so it may be a little deceiving when I said "goodbye" Saables, because it is still in my driveway, ha. Just now I gotta start cleaning her up and put her up for sale. Know anyone interested? ha!
Thanks again for looking for one of these for me. I appreciate it, just too bad we didn't stumble on anything this week. But don't worry because I tend to go through DD's every couple years it seems, so I'll be looking for something again sooner rather than later, ha!

The intent of removing the resonator isn't to make it louder. The intent is to make it all look cleaner/nicer. The OEM setup (IMO) is ugly. So people remove it to give it a cleaner look. Of course a side effect will be it will be a hair louder, but from all the reports of others doing it, it's not a drastic change, just a hair louder in lower RPM's mostly.
Here's an example:

Re: Brought home my new DD today.
Nice ride Brando, I was looking at those when I bought my Tahoe, the only reason I didn't snag it is that it got the same gas mileage as the Tahoe, and I could use the room for kids and crap. Those things have a lot of nice trim features I liked, the heated seats will be nice for the rest of winter too!
