ok so the other day i took my car to the track. The next day i noticed a little bit of blue smoke comming out the exhaust. and then the day after that the car had oil spots all over the back of the car. the turbo still spools fine and doesnt cut out or anything. but now im gettin a massive oil leak, and my cat was smoking like crazy today. valve cover is cracked but no oil is leaking from it. just behind the intake side of the turbo, is a lot of oil build up. i dunno what to do.

How many miles are on your turbo? Is your oil pressure really high? You can pull your lower intercooler line to the smic and see if it is contaminated with oil.

Look at this situation as an excuse to upgrade! If you can't afford a new turbo just buy another 14b and be done with it, they are cheap used.

This exact thing happened to me last season. I also noticed low oil pressure at idle and high boost but normal pressure while moving normally. Also check to see if you spitting out blue smoke while under boost. Mine got so bad I couldn't go higher than 5 psi without blue smoke pouring out the back.

Good luck.

Feel the turbo for shaft play. That will give you an idea of the condition. Park over a cardboard box at night and see if any is leaking. If you see some, just look up to get an idea where it is coming from.

All the above sugestions should give you a good idea of your turbo's condition.

If and when you do replace the turbo, clean out your intercooler piping if it is oily and clean out the intercooler. My intercooler had about a pint of oil in it when my turbo went.

ok so i looked under the car today, and on the tranny, the lower half there is a lil shaft with a rubber boot on it that sticks out. there is a line comming off of that running to the pass. side of the car along the fender, to the back of the motor. the oil is leaking out of there. a pretty good amount. the turbo seems fine, havent seen blue smoke today. i appreciate your helps guys. im new to this DSM stuff. is there a website where they give a breakdown of a car. kinda like an online haynes manual? thanks

That would be clutch fluid, and would not cause you to burn anything.

its not leaking out of the boot itself. the oil is leaking around that assembly. i put my boost gauge in the other day and im boosting 6psi and it spikes to 8 when i let off. i dunno what its supposed to be running. im ordered a boost controller. should i hook it up and see if it will run over 6?

The assembly is the clutch slave cylinder.... Again it is not oil unless it is leaking out of the bottom of the tranny and that could be a main seal.... There is no possibility of oil coming out that hole because thats where the flywheel and clutch sit...

Soon enough if it is clutch fluid you will leak out all of it and you will ahve no clutch

So go buy a manual for the car and figure out how to A- either fix it, or B- what the problem is and take it somewhere to fix it.

Nothing is cracked... the seals are prolly gone... You either have to rebuild it or buy a new slave cyclinder if that is indeed the problem.

If it really is leaking from the slave cylinder, then yes, replace it. But this is not related to the problem you stated in your first post.
