RX7 4G63 swap
I was thinking of doing a 4G63 swap in to a rx7 FC. What RWD transmission can I run or should I make it AWD.

Re: RX7 4G63 swap
a T56 can hold some power for sure, but can they shift at high revs?

Sure they can. I once went from 2nd to 1st in a Viper no problem, at like 70. Oops.

Re: RX7 4G63 swap
My old rx7 had a LT-1 with a T-56. I was shifting at 7600 RPM with the LT-1 and It was not a stock motor.

Re: RX7 4G63 swap
You should just do a swap like you had in your old rx7, that thing with a big shot just wasn't fair haha.

It seem like ever one is doing a V8 swap. I just wanted something new something you do see ever day.

Re: RX7 4G63 swap
Well, map already has a 4g63 FD. You might be the first to do it in a FC, but who knows. Why not just do the V8 swap that is proven and swap parts are readily available. I considered doing a rx7 v8 swap to use as a road race car.

Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

Re: RX7 4G63 swap
the B2600 bellhousing will mount to the RX7 tranny. BUT only the 87 and 88 model years.
The 87 and 88 Mazda B2600 had the Mitsubishi G54B motor
BUT your 4G would need to be a wideblock

Re: RX7 4G63 swap
You should do a 4g63 swap in a gremlin. That would be awesome.

Yea I did the 3rd to second once. Third gear in a viper winds out about 120 mph so it was a little much for second gear
