The 2009 Cookout Recap, Post Your Photos!
It was a great time today and thanks to everyone that voted for my car and got me 2nd in the 2g category. Thanks to Brookdale Mitsubishi and MAP for sponsoring the event and to all of the people involved in putting the show on. Great food too like always! Lets hear what everyone thought and post up your photos.

Re: The 2009 Cookout Recap, Post Your Photos!
It was my first time at a cook out and my brother and I were both very impressed. The food was great and the event seemed well organized. I'm looking forward to coming back next year and bringing more of my family along!
I'll use sunblock next time. I'm the same shade as my car.

It was a good turn out this year, the food is always good, which I enjoy. I was wondering who won in all the categories? I left early so wasn't around to see the winners

My first time for this and I'll definitely come back next year. Hopefully more 4Gs will show up next time. Mine was so lonely! Aside from being told Georgia didn't count for distance, I had a blast!

Forgot the camera so I didn't get any pics, but there is two things I noticed today, 1. Spaz, you gotta clean a little under that hood man, and get an intake already! 2. A certain black 2g needs some dynamat, I think you know who you are...
I had a great time today, lots of cool cars!

I have blown my share of HGs and have never seen that happen before. What caused that?

I'm sure I don't. I got really lazy about it really quickly, I'll be surprised if I took even 100. The current issue though is processing... the trial period on my photoshop ran out, and I don't have any way to activate CS4 that works on 64-bit OSes, so if someone knows anything about that, PM me. I would just use CS2, but it doesn't have native RAW support.

I tried. The power washer in the car wash at work didn't do anything by itself, and I inconveniently forgot degreaser at home. Pretty much left me SOL by the time I got off work at 9.
The big cleaning is going to come when I do timing in the next few thousand miles. Car'll be down for a few days, and I'll be fixing all my valve cover leaks, including both exhaust cam seals, so I'll be washing all the oil off everything after that's done.

Looks to be a good turnout, what makes Swifty so special that he can just park sideways in the middle of nowhere?

I wish I knew. I was rolling onto the gas to merge with traffic in 4th gear, maybe built 5 psi and then all of a sudden I was running on 2 cylinders.
My guess is that the gasket blew but then I tried limping it to Twacks so I didn't have to tow it or anything. With the combustion trying to go through where the gasket went, it probably took some of the head with it.
I will say though that Twack is the man for helping me with this. We compression tested it, diagnosed a head gasket, and then we got the whole thing apart in a little under 2 hours. If the head would've been fine we would've gotten my car together and to the cookout no problem.
