Back to DSM's...again :)

So it's been a few years since I have owned a DSM. Had a few 2g's and a 1g. Since have tried just about everything else and just been watching the market, waiting for the right 2g again. Just got back from Iowa picking it up. It's a 95' converted to 99' body style. GT35R set up with a punishment mani and some tial parts. Sheet metal mani and alky injection. Shep tranny, dsmlink, crower cams, forged internals and all the stuff to go with it. Got a few quesions. The guy I got it from said he runs 100% methonal in the sprayer and the tune is set up for it ( widebands shows 11.00-11.20 at 26 lbs ). I am wondering what guys are running ( alky or meth ) and what is most readily available around the cities. Plan on getting down to Modern in the next to hit the rollers and would like to tweak the tune for whatever I am gonna spray.

The clutch in the car is a twin disc and the engagment is BAD. It grabs and holds awsome, but there is about 2 inches of pedal play between all or nothing. Might change up the clutch and kicking around doing an E85 tune.

For sure, just not sure if the fuel system will be up to par. It's only a rewired 255 running 1000cc injectors...

Looks decent! FMIC is a little beat-up but otherwise seems like a decent setup! What alcohol injection system is on it? I run 50/50 methanol/distilled water on my evo with an aquamist hfs-1, I get it from DB Performance in Rogers. They also have a dyno, shane is the premier DSM/Evo tuner around here, definitely worth checking them out

Re: Back to DSM's...again :)

I have never been to DB, might have to make a trip. The car is running the Sno-perfomance kit with a .625 nozzle. Have you tried running the car 100% vs 50/50?

Yup, 100% denatured alcohol, 100% methanol, 75/25 meth/water, and 50/50. Pretty equal power results.

Re: Back to DSM's...again :)

How much did you need to change your fueling going from 100% to 50/50? Was timing pretty consistent?

Looks good. Mind if I ask how much you bought it for?

Me- "I don't think you would stand a chance."
Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

Got it for $ 8800... needs a few minor things.. ( seats are a little beat up, front tires wore ), but the hard parts alone are what sold me...

Re: Back to DSM's...again :)

What size are the front tires? I may have some that will work assuming they are 17s.

Re: Back to DSM's...again :)

Ok. I see 17s and 18s come up for auction (locally) all the time and can sometimes pick up a full set (4) of 17s for $80 or so. Good luck with the car.

Not at all, I probably had to pull out 1.5 points of AFR in my fuel map to level it off, depending on where in the curve I was.

Re: Back to DSM's...again :)

Please ditch that hood, at least get a stock appearing c.f. hood if you like the look...makes me wanna punch a baby.

Sounds like a nice set-up though, hope to see some graphs soon.

I may have missed this, but guessing as your front tires are shot is it a FWD or AWD?

Nice lookin car though, hood is meh in my opinion.
