Driver Side Front Axle

So I have a frozen driver side axle / housing bracket / half shaft assembly that is driving me nuts. Has anyone taken all these pieces apart? If so, how?

DSM 2gb awd and it is currently OFF the car, if it matters.

TIA

Re: Driver Side Front Axle

Just some clarification, which housing bracket are you referring to? The piece that holds the wheel hub/bearing? Usually, while the axle is still on the car, I undo the big axle bolt and give it a few wacks with a rubber mallet and it pops out from the wheel hub. I have however ran into the issue once where the wheel hub/bearing somehow welded itself to the axle and I had to take it and get it torched off. I would try maybe using some PB blaster or something to loosen it overnight and try again the next day, but I'm not sure if it's safe to use that stuff around your rotors.
