2g seat brackets

When drag racing for the first time two summers ago, I realized it's pretty hard to fit in a 2g with a helmet on, there is no headroom with the sunroof. I was reminded of this during autocross school last weekend. Last summer I installed racing seats hoping they would sit a bit lower than stock, only to find the opposite was true. Here is a sketch of the brackets that are currently on the car:

These are very nice brackets, but they sit up higher than stock, plus those rails make it even higher. The problem really stems from the floor being uneven, the inside is about 1" higher than the outside, dumb design. I suppose if I did a fixed position seat they would sit about 1.5" lower. Then I got to thinking how I could make a sliding seat sit just as high as a fixed position, just a hair over the front studs and rear bolts. For the current seats I could bend the cross bars down in the center, but that wouldn't work for seats that had wider mounting points for the rails, because they would have to sit directly over the mounting bolts. So I came up with this design:

The rails themselves are positioned as wide as possible on the flat part of the floor. Then add spacers in the front just enough to clear the studs, and a little bit of spacers in the back to clear the bolts. On top of the spacers weld full bars across in the places where you need to bolt on the seat bottom. This will allow any diameter of seat rail mounting points, and will allow the seat to sit basically as low as a fixed position seat.

I'm just sharing this with others that might want to make brackets instead of spending over $200 on premade ones that look like the current ones I have that sit up high. Feedback is welcome, I'd love the improve the design further. Maybe someone has already designed this, but I couldn't find anything.
