who wants 100 dollars!!!!

Ok this is the deal I have my transmission taken apart to swap bellhousings, but ounce apart I found out I had to replace bearings and a couple other things well when I went to put it together it wouldnt go together right so I took it apart again to double check every thing and every thing was all good so I put it back together ounce again and the middle casing wasnt sitting flat so this is my offer if you can come over and get it together and working I will hand you a 100 dollars.

Make sure the bearing races are not sitting crooked in the mid housing for the gear set.

Did you pull apart the gears? Are the gear sets sitting flat/flush on the bellhousing case?

Shift forks installed correctly? Do you have the detent balls still in the end case? If those are in there still, the shift rails could be binding up and not letting you button it together.

If you weren't in Lakeville I would come fix it for the $100, lol.

I was referring to the rail ends, my bad. If the rail ends are not lined up properly with the selector (the lever you push on that rides inside the bellhousing, it selects one of the shift rails to engage a particular set of gears), that would cause the forks to sit higher on the rails, pushing the gearsets out of their proper spots, and making the cases impossible to put together. Did you swap the same year bellhousing?

The 1990 is the black sheep, so you should be okay.

The shift forks shouldn't be different. Unless you got a 93 up which I believe uses an different shift fork and has double syncros in 2nd? (It has been about 4 years since I've rebuilt a dsm trans, a bit rusty from memory).

Are the spline counts the same on the Output shafts?

Do you have a picture of the problems?

Re: who wants 100 dollars!!!!

I Think I had to change the shift rails on mine when I changes bell housings. Something was different in the shift selector. The forks were the same. Both were 91+ FWD trannys

How far is it from going together? You may have to play with the shift levers to get them in the right spot when you are putting it together.

Re: who wants 100 dollars!!!!

That should be the 92 tranny (atleast the one that came with my 92). I am pretty sure it came out of my old talon. It is AWD for those trying to help.
