Powder results
Just thought I'd share a couple pictures of some powder coating I did earlier. What do you guys think?
First 2 are my upper IC pipe in Smoke Chrome
Last is a wrench I had laying around in Wrinkle Black.
PS - Yes, I know that bov flange weld is the bomb diggity!!

Re: Powder results
You did this on your own? What type of equipment do you have?

Re: Powder results
Not bad, though the colors don't show off the medium very well. I've been thinking about a DIY powder coating seyup. I'd love to get any insight you have to share about what works, what doesn't, etc...

TOP SECRET eh? I have been pondering the Craftsman kit but am a little reluctant on what the results would be like. Looks nice though.

Way to go mang!! well worth the effort you put in setting it up. I will take an intake, I/C pipes, and valve cover for now.

Go to Hell. The bigger the glob, the better the job. That shit doesn't leak at 30 psi, so fuck if I care how it looks!

Re: Powder results
Sorry that was inappropriate. I'm drunk. I agree those welds are not asthetically pleasing, but they hold. My other welds are a bit better, Those turned out bad cuz they were difficult because it was hard to get in there. Either way, go to my other thread to discuss my welds, this one is about my coating job, and I'm proud!
Here were some of my other welds that I think turned out better. The BOV flange ones were difficult for me. But were done over a year ago, and are still holding strong on a 30psi pressure test.

Damn, that valve cover looks really good. Might have to twist your arm a little and have you do mine sometime.

Re: Powder results
There is no secret. Just do the research like me and my buddy did. We just slowly researched, and slowly aquired parts here and there for about 4 months. Call me an ass, but I'm just not willing to go and tell you everything. I think you should research, as we did.
But I love how the powder hides my shitty welds though.
