it is a push back for widebody planes the airbus a330 and 747. It is the biggest and heavest thing we have out here
some info on it
it weights in at 120,000lbs
has 80,000lbs of draw bar pull/push at 100,000lbs + of a plane
7.4 straight 6 deutz engine that makes a huge 300hp (did not see tq numbers in the book)
hydro 4 speed style tranny
22.5 qt's of 15/40 oil
has hydro cab
has hydro jacks
4 piston brakes 1piston is 2.5in uses 2 calapers per wheel
tires are 445/95/25
tire take 110psi
lugs are 425ftlbs

on to the pics on my phone

the huge air filter

the engine

hydro tranny

it took 3 of us 3 hours to do a full filter change on it 1oil,2fuel,2hydro,1air filter. put on a fan belt that we had to tak out the fmic and alot of other part to get to the pullys. And left it for 3rd shift to finnish it up and put chains on it because of the little amount of snow we got.

I used to work on smaller versions of that stuff in the NAVY. It's probably a little easier pushing an F14 around than a A330.

Re: here is what I worked on last night

We had to do the front bearings, and put chains on that thing last night. Boy was that fun... haha We also put chains on 6 other pushbacks, and there wasn't a single pile of snow anywhere on the ramp, other than what had collected on the planes and vehicles.
