how does full blown motors dyno compare

Hey just kinda curious i know they have a dynoo dynamics but i have seen some dyno dynamics put out numbers 14 percent below a dyno jet and others put out equal to a dyno jet or higher numbers than a mustang dyno at least. Just kinda wondering how my whp would compare on other dyno's as in would it be more less etc.

Maybe they "correct" their numbers for humidity, altitude, ambient temp, etc to make the numbers look higher.
I believe DB uses uncorrected dyno dynamics numbers, and LSE did the same.

A Dyno Dynamics should read a lot lower than a DynoJet and slightly lower than a Mustang.

They add a stiff correction, like 1.20 to all their dyno numbers, flat. Why a flat correction, who knows, just silly. Uncorrected is the way to go IMHO.

Re: how soes full blown motors dyno compare

i asked not because i was comparing to a honda but because i put out alot more than i had expected and i usually went on lse's, but then my numbers were so high there i couldnt believe the dyno's were very similar, I didnt want to be running around thinking a gained 16 whp from an evo 3 intake mani.

Lmao, I can assure you that they still teach grammar, as I graduated high school not 3 months ago. Either he is using an old ass computer, or turned off spell check, cause mine tells me when I'm being retarded..lol.

Seriously, if you post more than two lines on a post, you should have more than one sentence. Please do not make another post like this, this is not mnsc.

Why not post up your LSE dyno graph, and also your Full Blown dyno graph, then we can make a little better comparison. Include mods too

Re: how soes full blown motors dyno compare

First I do apologize if this thread is off topic, but I thought being able to compare whp numbers from local shops might come in handy for many people, especially those bench racers which I was already accused of being. Many people do not understand 300 whp doesn't necessarily make them faster than someone with 270 in Phoenix.

I apologize that my thread was so unreadable for everyone. Clearly it wasn’t though since every person who commented on it understood what I was saying. Next time I will not make sure I don’t misspell only one word “dynoo” and don’t forget to put a coma after but.

As far as my second post I will try not to litter these forums with unreadable grammar like a lowercase i instead of a capital I, and forgetting the (‘) in conjunctions.

From now on I will concentrate more on correcting others for their grammar and sentence structure vs. their question. Forgive me for misspelling a total of five words out of 100 plus.

Thank you Scheides for the advice I will post them. Slowboy and Kracka thank you also for keeping this thread on topic/informative, rather than pointless bickering.

Also if you would like to copy and paste any of previous posts to word and show me where these run-ons are where I need periods go ahead.

Taser when you are two years from getting your doctorate and still manage the time to build a dsm, pay your bills, and work to pay for eight years of school go ahead and comment on my grammer.

Re: how soes full blown motors dyno compare

also "soes" was misspelt.

Also don't attack people it does not make you look good. No-one cares about your doctorate shit when trying to talk about modifying a DSM, esp. in the manner that you are using it.

If its so hard get rid of the DSM.

I find it funny that some newbies who don't keep up with good grammar get ragged on, when some people that aren't newbs have even worse grammar.

Back on topic, all dynos read off. I still dont understand why there isnt a standard for horsepower measurement. It should be like a cup, or an inch.

THEIR are people here that always post THERE "there"s and "their"s incorrectly.

Back on topic.

I guess somehow (not sure exactly how) I do understand the question the OP asked.

Why does one dyno read 15% less than another? Horsepower is defined as (Wiki);

1 hp≡ 33,000 ft·lbf/minby definition

So, lets put it simply. If the same car on two different dynos puts down 33,000ft-lb/min, both dynos should read 1 HP. But from what I understand, one will read 1 HP, another will read .95 HP, another might read .86 HP.

If there is a mathmatical definition to what 1 HP is, why do they read differently?

Is it just because of "corrections" for altitude, air temp, whatever? I guess I don't understand because math is math. Its universal. 1+1 = 2, not 1.9 or 2.1.

Do all dynos read torque the same or are there differences there too?
