Running shoes

Im looking for a nice pair of shoes, $100 is about my limit, I'm a bigger guy (~200 lbs) and I run about 6-8 miles a week, mostly on a treadmill, any thoughts? The old $30 Target ones are starting to hurt my knees and back.

Re: Running shoes

I would try going to Marathon Sports. (50th and Penn in south Minneapolis) They actually have a podiatrist on staff (not sure exactly when he works) and everyone there is in to running and has some foot knowledge. They have a treadmill that you can try out different shoes on. They'll make sure that you leave happy.

Re: Running shoes

I bought some affordable Asics years ago. I don't run a lot, but over the years the distances add up and they are just as supportive and springy as they were new. I've been very happy with them.

All I can say is try on as many different brands as you can and figure out which one fits you best. I've found that addidas have the best fit for my arches so I guess I'll suggest them.

Re: Running shoes

I agree with going to Marathon to check them out, they really know their shit. I wasn't impressed with my Nikes, New Balance wasn't bad, but the Asic's seem really good. I haven't done as much running lately and everything changes quickly. Marathon will get you hooked up.

Re: Running shoes

I bought my Adidas running shoes from the Albertville mall for like $30. I don't buy them to run though, I buy them for everyday shoes. And from what I gather Adidas ones aren't that good for running. But there are a few other shoe stores there that you could check out, and probably get them for a great price.
