New Turbo Questions - Kit?

I am looking for a new turbo bolt onto my engine. Pretty dead-set on getting a 20G with a TDO5H / External Wastegate. That setup has my mind set on it because it is in fact only 850.00 from www.turbochargers.com and I'm on a stock bottom end as well as a budget..

-The thing that mainly came to mind was, are there any gaskets/lines needed that are included with a turbo from TC.com or are there any other online shops that have the Gaskets/Lines inlcuded with their turbo's?

Thanks,
-SA

Re: New Turbo Questions - Kit?

I would go with something from anywhere but turbochargers.com I got their td05h/20g and needed to be rebuilt in less than 10,000 miles.

Hanh Racecraft has a 20g for 799

I'd go for the Hahn. I had that on my 1G and it rocked. That turbo was indestructible, I recently saw the car and it was still on it!

Re: New Turbo Questions - Kit?

Cant get on the DSMlink forums..

As for the Hahn, I've noticed there are 2 different 20G's on there for the 89-94. One saying "no external wastegate required" and the other did not include that information. So, should I go external? Also, on the one that said no "Ext. WG required" it stated for 'HighFlow' manifolds. I recently purchased the FP Race Exh. Mani. Would that be considered high flow?

Might want to talk to hahn directly so you get the right one, but I had one that bolted up to my stock manifold. Mine had an internal wastegate and it worked excellently, although I never tried to use it on high boost (over 22psi)

Meh, The smallest MHI I'd want to go with is the 20G. But, I've been searching around a little more, and now I have a PTE 5031E from MAP on my mind. 799$. Some people have told me to just throw a 50-trim on it the first time. The main purpose of this was to find out if there were a shop that sold a kit with all the gaskets, lines, etc. for a decent deal.

well stock for stock the 20g only flows 2cfm more then the e316g, trust me i was willing and ready to get a 20g then i came across a bunch of success story's with my turbo and i fell in love, quick spool and really decent power for the $. to each his own tho.

Re: New Turbo Questions - Kit?

Yeah the e3 is a kick ass budget turbo for how well it responds to boost from what I hear. But, I was hoping to get around the 400hp pump-gas mark, the evo 3 16g comes close, but only with EXTENSIVE tuning. I read alot about it and it does seem to be a sweet, fast-spooling street turbo, but I'm looking for something bigger, per-say a 50 trim! I don't know, shit changes all the time though, buy a tranny, motor goes. Buying a motor now, whats next(!?!)
