Kinda got me thinking about tv to computer in the iTV thread. I've got Windows media center on the laptop and surprisingly having a weird time finding out what is exactly needed to get these two hooked up to where I can start savings misc items on the computer.

you probably need cables, first you need to find out what outputs you can use (DVI, S-VIdeo, RCA) and then you need to see what your tv can take.

if you have an HDTV, you probably want a DVI to HDMI cable, go to ebay and look one up, really cheap, decent quality.

I used windows media center..... I was fairly pleased. I haven't used the linux solutions but I'm guessing they could be better. Now I just have an HD PVR that I use....

So what are you looking to do? Record TV shows onto your laptop? Watch your porn collection on the big screen??

What kind of TV are you hooking up to? There are several ways to hook up a PC to a TV. Need more details...

I'm looking to record TV onto the laptop. My viewing screens for the poRn are suitable.

I'll post more info about my TV tonight when I get home. I'm hooking up to a new flat panel we have.

A lot of the newer flat panel TVs have either a VGA or a DVI connection. If that is the case that is the easiest way to hook up a laptop to a TV. Let me know what you have for connections on the TV.
