Re: Tranny

Well, the install went smooth. The tranny and everything is back into the car. Started it up and ran fine. Took it for a drive and cant get it into 5th gear. Just seems to stop, like somthing is in the way.
I took the shift cables off in case it was somthing stupid such as they short shifter not getting to the right spot. But, same thing, wont go into 5th gear. This is wierd since I sent Shep the tranny with it stuck in 5th gear. Now I cant seem to get it into 5th gear... ??? Any ideas?

Re: Tranny

Did you check the linkage at the transmission as well?

Yea, tried to shift it by hand right at the transmission without any cables on it. Did the same thing as with the cable attached. Still wont go.

Re: Tranny

Have you figured out what is wrong? Have you contacted shep? I have only heard good things about his transmissions so this is surprising.

Re: Tranny

He will stand behind his work. If you SERIOUSLY can not shift it by hand (cables detached, grabbing the levers on the tranny and moving them by hand) give him a call. Make sure you're moving the correct levers in the correct direction. I personally hate being told something I did doesn't work when it's actually just fine.

Re: Tranny

As luck would have it, the reverse light switch was screwed on too tight. So, after loosening it up a bit everything seems to work fine. Just need to go through the break in period for the tranny and flywheel and I should be good.
