Car Stuttering,ECU Capacitor replacement?
So i was driving my car home tonight and either when the car would close to 0psi or about 2200 rpms, the car would try to kill itself. I started it up, waited for a minute then started to drive. I usually start the car and then let it get completely warm before driving then it usually doesn't have any issues.
Tomorrow i am gonna look up the cap #'s and replace them. If anyone has any suggestions/helpful tips, basically anything to help. Please let me know.
I haven't replaced the caps yet, it is a eprom ECU, where could i get the socket and caps. I will lookup stuff tomorrow.
Thx
Aaron

Do a search on caps with the author as LightningGSX. I know he has posted the part numbers and where to get them before. I also know people sell them on eBay but overcharge on both parts and shipping.
Oh, and I dont think you will be able to get them tomorrow. I am pretty sure you will have to order them. I may be wrong though.

Re: Car Stuttering,ECU Capacitor replacement?
I dont know much about DSMs (yet), but to me it sounds maybe like a warm start issue. I kinda have the same prob as I think ur describing but im not sure. Try checking your blow off valve tube that vents the puff of air back into the sys, it may be leaky/unplugged/ect.
In order to vent to the atmosphere, you need to change some stuff i.e. Maf and maf trans, or dsm link, or AFC. Ive been researching on venting to atmosphere for my stock 91 AWD and from what i understand, you CANNOT vent to atmosphere on a stock setup by simply unplugging that tube that vents it back into the sys like right b4 the turbo, you need the "supporting mods". \

I think it has more to do with the car and what BOV you are using. I think some cars respond worse than others when you vent to the atmosphere. My friend had his get disconnected once and it ran like crap. The 1g bov I had on my car caused no problems when it was vented for me.

Cop says "probably not" and drives off.

Hey, I found this write up on replacing the capacitors. It also tells where to buy them online and the part numbers.

Re: Car Stuttering,ECU Capacitor replacement?
Alright, drove car last night, still sucks. Until car heats to normal temp (gauge is about 1/2/pointing straight up) the car will not go over 2000rpms, or 0 psi. when it hits 2000rpms the car just cuts itself off, of fuel or something. Pls help, i am gonna check some stuff out when i get done with h-work later.
Thx
