looks like my balance shaft did some damage

pulled out my front balance shaft to install my eliminator kit, didnt really notice anything wrong untill i popped out the front bearing, then noticed that there wasnt a rear bearing!!... looked at the shaft, and it was all damaged from smacking around inside the block. This doesnt bother me that much, since Im not re-installing them, but it however, ob-long where the rear bearing is supposed to go.. You should be able to tell from the picture, that the rear bearing doesnt fit.

So now, what am I supposed to do? Ill be able to block off the front journal because luckly that bearing fits. But what about the rear? I tryed to take off the little access screw, and it wont budge. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

nothing out of the ordinary for 4g63's blocks.
somehow you have to get that oil hole blocked.

you can and if you can, could weld the oil hole shut. tricky because of tight fit issues. another is you can tap and die the oil hole and bolt it up, but it can be a issue.

anyhow, figure out whats the best route to do.

gluck

Drill and tap for plugs in the oil passages would be your only option, besides getting a good 4g63 core from someone. Welding on a cast iron block is a really bad idea.

Drill the outter access plug out to a larger diameter, then tap the oil feed hole at the balance shaft bearing and plug it off, then tap the outter plug and plug it off.
