0 gauge wire

Where can I find some cheap 0 gauge wire? Anyone know of a good place. There is some on ebay but shipping kills ya. Any local place with good deals? I tried my best to search around and I figured someone has to know of a good place.

If you don't mind it being a lil stiff, Menards, Home Depot, Lowe's places like that all carry entrance conductors of that size...

You might want to try a welding supply store, like Toll or Air Gas.

0 gauge from just about anywhere online that isn't a known brand(Monster, Rockford, Metra, etc), will just about always be smaller than actual 0 gauge wire. I really don't recommend cheaping out on it, make sure it is oxygen free copper also because if you run it in your car the wire will oxidize and break.

Its gonna be used for Battery relocation. So I dont think it will matter to much if its not totally 0 gauge. But that is good to know and Ill make sure its oxyger free too.

Is the wire from welding suply stores pretty good? Someone else had recommended that too. Is theirs oxygen free copper? How can you tell?

I bought the parts from summit. If you want to run at the track, you will also need a battery cutout switch which can be activated from the outside of the vehicle. BTW, I would not reccomend this to your FWD car. Keep the weight in the front where you need it. You do not need 0 gauge wire. I believe mine is 2 or 4. Look it up at summit. I know Audio King has some and Napa (hopkins) did also when I was wiring key machines in our work van.

yah the ones on summit are mostly 2 guage. Maybe Ill go with that. Also do I need a box? I kinda skimed over the track rules and it says if you have a hatchback you need one, but I have a convertable and the trunk is sealed off from the cockpit. I think thats what I read. Also it really doesnt matter to me about weight and stuff, really I just want to make the underhood look pretty.

I would get a box anyway.. just in case fluid comes out. You dont want that eating at your trunk.

Sealed led acid batteries don't spill and can be mounted in almost any position.

I wonder if the rules still require a box?

Rules required a SEALED and VENTED box if not behind a firewall.
Also the switch is required, and the battery has to be tied down to the FRAME inside the box.
