I got back on sunday around 4pm. I saw Ryan (Rhino) and some of his friends up there. I was doing spectator marshalling. My spot on saturday had Speed Channel at it both times. They did spans of the crowds and everything.
This was the first time I got out to the LSPR rally and I will definately be going back next year. If you have the chance, it's worth the drive. It's closer than you think. It only takes about 6 hours to drive there. I got the best mileage I have ever got with my Talon on the way back. I filled up just outside of Houghton, MI and didn't have to fill up until I got to North Branch. At that point I had a little over 1/4 of a tank left. I got 29.12 mpg.
Here's some pics that Pete Kuncis took up there.

Here's is my favorite pic.

Here's what Mark's car looked like after he rolled 3 times on saturday.
Ouch!!!
And this was our spot on saturday. A nice sweeping left.
Steve Gingras
And one of those "once in a liftime" shots. He was about 5 feet away from the car. Nothing bad happened with the car, he just cut the corner a little bit too short.
HELLO!!!!!!!!!!

DAMN! Mark rolled it. I take it he didn't win the champisonship in his class then. Man I am glad I got a ride in that car while I could. Doesn't look that bad thanks to the cage and shit. He end up ok?

Yeah, he and Jeff both made it out ok. Just a little bruised. He placed second in class for the season behind Mitchell. Mark had a 2 point lead going into LSPR. It was unfortunate but at leaast noone was hurt.

LSPR is the best. The whole area is cool to be at. It also holds alot of end of year drama. I wish I could have gone ever just to watch.

Speed Channel will be airing footage on Nov 6th at 10pm. I want to see some of the shots from our spectator point. I'll just have to kick back with a and watch my favorite :rally: drivers.
Can't wait til next season!!!!!!

I'm collecting some rally coverage on divx using my computer's TV capture card. I've got Ojibwe Forests and I'll try to catch LSPR. Perhaps I'll make a CD with the commercials edited out. When I edited OFPR, I was feeling bad about editing out some of the great Subaru and Lan Evo commercials. Unfortunately, my Speed Channel reception isn't very good with Charter and I get some lines from a bad aerial signal.

Found a video online that is awesome.
LSPR vid
I had to use Quicktime to view it. It's worth it though. He was videotaping at one of my spectator points on Friday nite. It was a 1/4 mile straight shot. The cars were in top gear with their foot thru the floor when they went by.

My marshall point was highlighted quite a few times. Right towards the end of the broadcast when they were showing the final stage at the finish, my point was the camera shot before they showed them crossing the line. It was a left turn (for the competitors. They were coming straight at the camera. The twisty road sign was behind them when they came towards the camera.
They also had one of those shots they take just before they go to break to fill a gap. Well, if you saw the guy in the tree, that was my marshall point!!! He was on the inside of the corner. We were waiting to see the branches below him snap and watch him hug the tree all the way down!!!!!!
Good coverage. I have a DVD coming from Spencer Prusi with Ojibwe and LSPR on it. I hope it gets here soon.

He had some good shots at OFPR as well. We are running in the same forest for Headwaters as we did for Ojibwe (White Earth). We went up and checked the roads last weekend and they are great!!!!! We are adding some roads we have never used before and also running some stages a little different than before. It's going to make for a great spring rally. Remember, May 15th.........
