46/1000 Project!
http://www.galantvr4.org/ubbthreads/...b=5&o=&fpart=1
The project... Haven't really been posting much on Style, but I've been busy lately.
Hopefully it will be ready before spring dyno day, haha.
Last season, 388WHP @ 25PSI/93 pump, stock motor, stock trans, TD06 20G.
This season? HX40, E85, 30PSI? XXX WHP?
Oh, and the new built is pretty much a MitsuStyle bastard. Goodhart's motor and head, and SleepyDSM (Kevin)'s HX40 setup.

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Thanks for the support guys...
This is what I spent my afternoon doing...
Spent the afternoon with a bucket of water, Dawn, and several Scothbrite pads. Degreased it all. Hit the subframes with Rustoleum hammered paint. Good stuff.
More to come.

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Sanded down the rust, sprayed it all over with primer and OE Kensington Gray paint. Subframes touched up. No more rust!

Gloss black, more gloss black and more gloss black. So tasty... Parts came back from Primo today. Not mounted, just mocked up.
Water pipe/motor mounts are also powdercoated in gloss black, but not pictured.
I'll probably set the timing/install the timing belt tonight.

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Cleaned the motor up, installed more parts onto it, and pushed the VR-4 back into the garage where she belongs! She's safe from the snow now! Soon! Motor will go in!

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Update! Yay!
Picked up the HX40 from Wade, and tossed it on along with the O2 housing etc. I need bolts for the exh manifold to head, and I need to figure out my drain line/feed setup. Probably 1 week or so until it goes in.

Re: 46/1000 Winter Project!
Did you get the drain from that Wade guy too? Otherwise I'm sure my bro could find ya one for probably dirt cheap. You were looking at using a stock Cummins return line weren't ya?
If you don't get the feedline from him also, I still have that -3 braided feedline that goes from the head also if it's big enough.

I sure hope so as well. As long as he gets the correct return size and is feeding it the pressure it wants it should have a long life. It got a fresh rebuild before he got it, I wanted to make sure it was in exceptional shape before selling.

Once I figured that out, I had no issues with that turbo. Great flow, one of the fastest spooling journal bearing turbos you can get.
