Bought A GVR4

Well, I've been looking for a Galant VR4 for quite a while. My cousin's buddy owns one and showed it to me. I got hooked on the sleeper side of the car and started looking for one. I waited for something to fall into my price range and not terribly far from me. I ended up purchasing #83/2000 in WI.

It has some issues. It has idle surge right now. Also, the previous owner to the one I purchased it from installed a E16g without any supporting mods. The fuel system and ecu need to be addressed. As you can see in the engine shot, the wiring is seriously fubared too. I have no idea why he fixed all the wiring with the same color. So the plan is to put it on the hoist and start stripping it down. The motor will get yanked and the bay will get cleaned and organized. The intercooler isn't currently mounted to anything and blows the pipes off if you boost above 10psi. The piping all has to get massaged to fit better as well. Absolutely a project, but it's one that me and my dad can handle. Should be an interesting introduction to the 4g63 motor and awd. I come from an old school chevy background. We used to race circle track stuff at raceway park and elko speedway. My cousin had a dsm and I was impressed by the bang for the buck of his car. I know he used this board, but I don't know his username. He got out of dsms after his car spun a bearing after he put rings and bearings in it.

Anyways, enough rambling here's the car.
