Got a call from my credit union this morning saying as a precaution they're issuing me a new check card because of when that place was hacked into a couple weeks ago. I didn't want it cancelled right away because it would be quite an inconvenience, so they were just going to wait to cancel it until I got my new one.

A couple hours later I get a call from Visa fraud prevention, and she runs over a list of transactions that had happened this weekend since Friday. A few were mine, but when she started listing off transactions between $200 and $500

I knew right away I was screwed. My card is now cancelled and I'm going to have to live for the next two weeks using a checkbook along with what little cash in my pocket. Lucky me.
