I'm sure alot of you have already seen or heard about this on other forums, but for those of you haven't....here's the link.
I haven't read the whole thing. As of yesterday afternoon it was over 45 pages! It's pretty crazy how far this link has spread. Practically every internet forum has posted it up, reaching hundred of thousands of people!!
For those who just want a recap, here's what I have read:
Mark was the winning bidder of a red EVO (w/ extras) on Ebay for $26K. A couple hours after the auction ended he contacted the dealer selling it and they said they had sold it to a broker for a higher amount so he didn't win anything. The problem with this is, the dealer should have cancelled the auction or put a reserve amount if they feared they wouldn't get as much for it. I haven't heard the outcome yet. I'm sure it will take a while to settle. People are calling the dealer (which isn't cool) and also calling Mitsubishi HQ to file a complaint against the dealer (which would be the right thing to do).
I hope he ends up getting the EVO so the dealer learns a lesson.

DAMN that guy is so screwed! I wouldn't doubt it if he goes out of buisness. (the dealer) I would sue the mofo. Not to mention the car hasn't been sold on carfax and is still listed forsale on their website.

Ok guys i jsut called the MITSU USA. they said that they are a privately owned dealer ship. i said but they carry the mitsu name. blah blah.. filed my complaint.
heres the scoop: the lady said the coarse of action here on is they take into account how many complaints they get and then speak with the dealership. she advs that if i was the only caller with a complaint it will just sit there. so lets this moving and call then UP!!. and email the.
GUys take 10 mins out of your day an unite to fight the corporate america!!!!!

I agree. Even thought I am young I plan on doing this when I find a pay phone and some time.
the number is 1-888-mitsu2004
a 188 # for the dealership is 1-888-445-2190 but I am not sure if it works
A working one is 408-425-5300 as of page 6.... just in case you want to vent.

I am sure by now you have gotten plenty of hate mail and I am sure there is more to come. This is merely a heads up to how fast this story has traveled.

As you can see this story has reached close to, if not more than a million people out there. Plenty of them in your area. You've even gone international reaching parts of Canada, too!
I think your decision, has already severly hurt your reputation. But there's still time to make up for it if you chose. You should hope that he doesn't take legal action. Why should he suffer for your blunder? Take the loss and move on.
Sincerely,
Clayton

I think the bastards gave in!
http://cgi2.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBa...erid=marks_auto
i saw this http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread...&pagenumber=106
there where the guy said we did it.
this is a quote " Complaint : MarkMitsubishi makes me ashamed to be a Mark-BackedOut of Deal for Phantom Buyer
Response by marks_auto - mgmt will honor high bid .. trying to contact bidder for pmt and shipping"
i was reading and i think so many people responded to mitsu HQ that mitsu pressured them/threatined them.

This was the last post by the EVO Ebay winner. Kind of looks to me like he will be getting the EVO.

Mark Mitsubishi offered me the ebay car at the auction price on Monday . I accepted their offer on Tuesday. If I could not have afforded the car and then started a negative post about the seller, I would have to kick my own ass.

Good for him. I work a dealership also (service), and it's great to see the consumer put a sales dept in check.
Think we could start a consumer rally like that about crankwalk? NOT!! :bounce:
