Re: Sneak Peak ...
I think he said there would be 3 variations of it on tuners
Cheap - Stock arms/sway bar/PS
Drag - lightweight arms, no sway bar/little adjustment of the arms/no PS
Uber adjustable spendy version

Re: Sneak Peak ...
Rowdy, nice work! What is it coming out to be for the full weight loss? I saw that you’re going auto this winter too, should make for some crazy fast passes this year. You and Jake need to make it out to the MAP PG this summer.

I doubt that will happen now after trying to figure out how to adapt the stock control arms safely.
We were talking about it last night and anyone that is ACTUALLY going to buy one is looking to save weight and usually for drag racing. So there for, they usually go to the manual rack, dont care about the sway bar and dont need anything super fancy as long as its light and works. I have a hard time believing more than 10 people max would cough up the dough for one.
Pictures do not do this thing justice. The ball joint adapters are pure sexiness...
He has a price in mind but I am curious as to what you guys think something like this should sell for? Comes with everything. Control arms, Motor mount, Moog ball joints, heim joints, bolts and hardware to install this into any 1g with a manual steering rack.

Have you guys thought about keeping the front sway bar?
I've heard things about it helping with traction even on a drag car, its more of a safety item on decel. than anything else.

Re: Sneak Peak ...
Thank you all for the nice words. I appreciate it.
Today, I spent some time in the shop and weighed everything. The stock k-member weighs 65.2lbs (including the sway bar). My K-member weighs 29.64lbs. I test fitted everything on the car and it looks good so far. This weekend I will try to throw the auto transmission on the car and see how everything looks. Hopefully everything clears. Here is a picture of everything on the scales:
Here are some pictures of how it looks installed on the car with a 5-speed transmission, so you can see the clearances for trans, axles, etc.
And last picture for today is the k-member with the manual rack installed on it.
I have posted my progress on a few other forums including NABR. Dennis Grant chimed in and reminded me about something very important that still needs to be done. Destructive testing of the LCAs and Ball Joint Receivers and further box gussetting of the LCA pickups.
After I throw the car on an alignment rack at Jake's, I will make an extra set of LCAs and see what it will take to destroy them. Once that phase is complete I will have a better idea of what to expect from the k-member when installed on high horsepower street cars.
I designed the LCAs so that I can add a sway bar later without modifying them. I will address that once version 1.0 is complete, tested and on a couple of cars.

"further box gussetting of the LCA pickups."
This was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the first pics in this thread. The potential loads/angles and the current LCA mounting is a concern.
Also, if you note the pics TKR posted, there is a lot of triangulation in their design. I'm not sure if your design needs it, but it could be something to think about as you test it. Just for reference, I'm mostly talking about the view in the second pic in the first post of this thread.
You've done a great job so far, as I know it's not easy to make something like this. Just gotta keep in mind the consequences of failure before you release the product.
