Sept 29th rock falls

So whos going to the rock next saturday? brad and I are planning on going with the bikes. We could set up a meeting spot on the way out if anybody else wants to follow. Taking the bike out there hoping to break into the 9s.

I'll talk to my brother, he wants to run is civic again after a tune. we'll see, not expecting too much of a change though but it's always good fun to go to the tracks.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls

First time going to the track. I know trap I can trap 141+ in the 1/4 but getting a good launch is key. I should be able to launch it good for a 9. But just a little nervous since its my first time going. Next year I plan on lowering and stretching the bike with a couple bolt ons. I can launch my bike pretty good on the street. This weekend I will go out and try a couple more launchs.

After your first few passes, you'll get pretty comfortable. Well, that's how it was for me in a car anyway. I don't know about doing whoolies down the track feels like.

Re: Sept 29th rock falls

I think after the second one I should be pretty good. It will be fun getting to the track and running it.

So if its the first time going to the track, how do you know you trap 141+?

2 weeks ago there was a modified 2009 - 1000rr running 11.1's @ 137

Track was too sticky for him and he couldnt keep the front end down for the life of him so he kept having to let up.

Racing on a prepped track is nothing like driving on the street. Dont get your hopes up. The first time you launch the bike at the track like you launch it on the street, you will scare the living shit out of yourself.

Good luck! Get some video!

Re: Sept 29th rock falls

I did a radar run that was a 1/4 mile and I trapped 141. So I should be able trap 140 at the track. I know the track is differnt then the street. Aslong as I run low 10s I will be happy with that. I think iam a pretty good rider. but I guess I will find out this satutday.
