Chicago issued 240 carry permits so far

Looks like some people are starting the process to carry legally in Chicago. The city has only issued the applications for the permits. I wonder how long the city will drag it's feet getting the permits approved.

They aren't carry permits...these are possession permits. My understanding is that it is never legal to have the firearm outside of your home. The talk show guys were joking about how you are supposed to buy it and transport it to your house...technically not legal as it stands.

That's been a longstanding problem in Chicago. If you're a Minnesotan on your way to Indiana then you could have an unloaded firearm in the trunk of your car and if you NEVER leave the freeway then you're good. A handful of guys have been charged with felonies for having their cars break down along the way or stopping for gas anywhere in Chicagoland. afaik that hasn't changed.
