Mitsubishi Gods have no love for us

Sent my brother to work. No harsh driving, just gentle driving. Came back home and got out of the car to get the mail and I see radiator fluid leading to the driveway. *sighs* Really didn't believe till I saw this. Thermometer gauge wasn't on "H" (thank goodness) but she'll be down for a while.

Re: Mitsubishi Gods have no love for us

Looked under the car MUCH more thoroughly and found out it was just a leaky water line. THANK GOODNESS. I'm currently in the search for a this specific piece of rubber hose though. Don't know which hose will be most reliable.

You can get new hose from Ace or another hardware store. Just bring that sectiion with you for comparison. I think they sell it by the foot.

Re: Mitsubishi Gods have no love for us

If you have any power steering hose laying around you can use that. Or just take the piece out and bring it in to autozone and they'll find you a replacement. Your gonna have to drain the coolant also. Unless you get a hose to replace it and try and swap it quick without loosing too much. But trust me, it will try and spray you in the face any chance it gets..

At this point it would probably not be a bad idea to replace ALL the hoses that haven't been already. 18 years is a long time for rubber.

Re: Mitsubishi Gods have no love for us

^^ +1, When your coolant hoses and lines are old, as soon as you replace one, another will blow. It's best to just do them all, that way you're not replacing another hose every week or two

Re: Mitsubishi Gods have no love for us

Well, I had to pull a Swifty and reuse my old broken hose and RTV the crap out of the old one and RTV the solid water lines. So far no leaks.

heheheh. Not.

Well, $20 bucks later, I fixed it and no more leaks!......for now. Bought new clamps and hose. Wind is strong tonight and dust is getting into my eyes. I'll definitely change the lower/upper radiator hoses and other lines pretty soon. Ahh...feels so good to drive my car now.

Sweet! Glad it wasn't more severe than just a leaky hose.

I definately need to do this on my car someday. Just go through and replace them all. Probably less than $100, but should last another 20 years

Re: Mitsubishi Gods have no love for us

WHAT!!!!
You mean a 18 yr old rubber hose can crack and leak? no wai

OMG the mitsu gods must hate us, why would they make 18 yr old rubber hoses break that see all kinds of shit from the road fly up??

On a shitty note for you all, my DSM made it home fine another cross country trip down, got 34mpg driving slow though. Damn mitsu gods thank you for letting me slide or could it be something else.

I think we are mistaking angry mitsu gods with angry evo gods. The DSM's are seemingly doing quite well (Tom doesn't count haha).
