Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
I plan on getting this, need to up my COD skills again though. I've been meaning to, but so many decent demo's have come out I haven't had time.
Mirrors Edge is probably going to be my next purchase though, that was a pretty fun demo.

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
I feel like a noob on there when I play COD4 every night. All that uncharted land is a lot to take in. A lot of sniper spots thats for damn sure.

Well I'll get my skillz back up and join ya some night. These games being 60$ sucks. COD5 vs. M.E. for me right now.

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
I like the modern guns a lot better but with this nature of the beast to use the old school ones. I'm sure over time I'll get used to them, The co-op missions from what I hear are a blast. I'll be on playing by ten tonight for god only knows how many hours straight. Good thing I don't work until 11 tomorrow.

So the levels in CoD5 are bigger than CoD4?

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
My Take: I played the Beta for a bit on Xbox Live, it was fine. I assumed there might be some improvements in the final release. Sure enough, a friend came over with his brand new copy of the game. The improvements I hoped for weren't there. I loved COD4, this is like COD4, but it isn't the same. The graphics pretty much suck. More detail, but doesn't look nearly as nice as COD4. The levels though are a lot bigger online, with a lot more little nooks and crannies you could say. I'd probably be more content if Infinity Ward could make some new maps and maybe new guns for COD4 so I don't have to wait all the way for COD6! I'd consider buying COD5, but you're getting a lot of the same gameplay with different maps and worse graphics. Zombie Co-op mode looks neat, haven't tried it yet though.

Yeah they are pretty big, It does lack in the eye candy but as I cruise threw the levels the new guns aren't to bad. Overall I like it, Gave me the change of pace I needed from COD4.

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
It's an ok game, servers were having some issues today which was pissing me off a lot. Hopefully they get their shit figured out. Also, the older guns plain suck compared to COD4's selection.
I honestly think Resistance 2 was an overall better game though.

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
Yeah the servers seem to drop after 2 or 3 matches. I'm sure that will be fixed at some point. All this hype of R2.. I might have to look into this.

Give it a rent, great story (if you have played the 1st one and have an idea what is going on) and gameplay is a great time.

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
COD4 owns this game hands down; I was playing it the other day and was waiting for something cool to happen but it never does. The old school weapons aren't terribl but just the detail and overall movement sucks.
I then went and played COD4 again just for comparison and there was none. Infinity Ward just makes better games; and COD5 isn't made by Infinity Ward if I remember correctly.
So COD5 = Fail

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
Does CoD 4 or 5 have an extended demo mode, more than 30 seconds long?

Re: Call of Duty 5: World at War
I downloaded the game to try it out. Only played single player so I cannot comment on MP, but the gameplay felt the same as every other COD out there since 2 --tons of scripted events that really start to wear thin after the 3rd level. That and I swear the game at the core is still the Quake 3 engine, granted years of enhancement, but the essence is the same... Think I'll stick to Insurgency Mod.
