New buy
Recently sold my Laser with a TSI body conversion. Just was bored with it, plus didn't have money to paint it, and couldn't stand the tri color set-up. I was oh so very close to buying a N/A car that I wouldn't have to put so much effort into. Then I came across this, the little devil on my shoulder told me to get another dsm and I listened.
Mods-
-255 walbro pump
-.....weight reduction I guess you could say, no rear seats, trunks stripped.
-yep thats it...haha pretty much bone stock
Paid $1000 for it, has 86k and some change, a new clutch with rebuilt transmission, a stiff suspension, don't know exactly what was done to it, and of course the tan leather. It's got a little cancer, from the dude before me hitting a cone when he was doing an autocross...he never raced again cause he was soo pissed...lol. So I'm looking for a hood and front drivers side fender. Like I said, its stock, so I'm sure this is not the last you will see of this one.
(oh yea its jacked up off the ground in the front because I was doing a coolant flush and changing the alternator, And its a little dirty.)

Re: New buy
Yes it will soon join the elite club of dsm's on jackstands, when I strip the rims down and repaint them, they will be black soon. Can't find parts cars out here for the life of me.

Re: New buy
God damnit, nice find. I've been trying to find a 1g(turbo) for ~$1000. I've resorted to leaving notes on random cars in parking lots in hopes that they'll want to sell them. Last one I did was a 1g TSi with a Handicap tag hanging form the mirror. FOund a shitty 2ga N/T for $400 with minor body damage and a fresh timing belt job. Now I have to call about a 1gb Laser today.
Good find though, you're stuck in the DSM life, haha!

Beautiful find!
Dude, no way he hit a cone at auto-X, that corner was hit by something a bit more solid than that!

Yea that was what I was thinking, it has a clean title, never been in an accident, so I'm guessing it was something dumb he did, and just didn't want to say it..lol, but its just that corner thats creased. The guy really liked the car, didn't want to get rid of it, but he was moving and the girlfriend said it had to go... I gladly took it off his hands lol. I'm probably going to add some stuff to it in the next month (16g, new exhaust, 2g manifold or tubular manifold). So I guess I will update that in the projects section when I get that all done. Just did an alternator on it, first one on a 1g...fun stuff..lol
