Fcuk MN law makers, license plate law update

I was just looking at plate fees for my car and i just saw that as of aug. 1st 2008, license plates will be required to be mounted horizontally and facing outwards.

I just last week mounted my license plate on the bottom lip of the front bumper facing upwards so that it would be legal, well i guess i enjoyed about 10 days of that.

I think they are trying awfully hard to come up with more ways to screw us over.

it's more like, they have nothing better to do than waste our money sitting on their asses passing worthless laws instead of laws that we can actually benefit from. You know how stupid this license plate law sounds? It's mind boggling. It's like the cop that pulled me over for my tint and the thing read 49% in one spot and 50% in another of light passing through. Then he explains to me that it has to be at least 50%... ???

So it was OK to face a license plate inwards before?

Lovely, just what we need. more reasons to be pulled over. However, i haven't had a front plate on my car for years with no problems.

I believe there is a 2% + or - on the tint law.

It has to be forward facing so you can be tagged by laser from the front. Mount it correctly, or don't mount it at all. Don't bitch because you half assed something.

^ I didn't half ass something douche bag, i mounted according to MN statute i am bitching cause they changed the law again to make it so that you have a big fucking sign on the front of your car.

i had mine laying down on the bottom of the front bumper facing upward.

If you want to be an ass try it over at MNSC where the dumb high school kids are.

Meh just mount it on the side top part of the bumper. Or dont run one, but I think paying 100+ in tickets all the time is kinda dumb just for the no plate look.

No need for the sandy vagina attitude. If you had it laying down then why have it on at all? The point of a license plate is to be seen so your car can be identified. Just because you have it on your car in a way that may or may not be defined by the law doesn't make it right.

I always found it funny that I had a front plate on my car and yet 1/2 the members on here refuse to put one on theirs, lol.

Its just a damn license plate, why not just put it on there?

Its ugly and its a stupid law IMO. Do I pay the price for it? Yeah, once in a while, but not enough to make me want to put it on there.

I have mine on my car. Always have and always will. I just made sure I attached it in such a way that it doesn't block airflow to the intercooler.

If someone made a nice bracket where it looks good still and doesnt require holes in bumpers, I'd be more than willing. Kinda like the Evo plate holder.

Re: Fcuk MN law makers, license plate law update

I haven't run front plates on any of my cars since 1998, I have received two tickets in the last ten years due to no front plate. The last ticket I received was last year and it was $102 so that has me thinking strongly about mounting one. I used to go to Uni twice a week and never got busted down there.

I need to find one of those aftermarket evo plate mounts, I refuse to drill holes in my front bumper to mount the thing with the factory bracket.
