Took The Z06 To The Track Last Night
Well, it was the worst hooking night I've ever seen. I can go on and on about how bad the track prep was and how much water was everywhere....
So, I drove the car two and half hours to the track, made three passes, then turned around and headed home. Considering the horrible track conditions I'm pretty happy with the results.
11.50 @ 125.8 w/1.97 sixty foot.
Solid mid 11's while smoking the tires out of the hole? I'll take it.
Of course that's with 93 octane fuel, no tuning and no nitrous.
More to come very soon.

What year Z06 and whats done to it? DRs or street tires? It sounds like a fun DD and a quick car.

Re: Took The Z06 To The Track Last Night
I thought your car was modded slightly? Don't those things run low 11s stock; I thought I heard of someone actually getting one into the 10s stock on slicks or DR's, not sure though. Either way those cars are fucking sick, nice job.

Re: Took The Z06 To The Track Last Night
Yeah, I have headers, cold air and a thermostat. I also have an HP Tuners setup, but I haven't had time to finish up the LM-1 install to do any actual tuning, so it's still using the crappy timing/fueling maps. BTW, the '07 Z06's are typically down 10-15RWHP over the '06's because of the stock tune. The battery in the laptop crapped out on me in the staging lanes, so much for data logging. Nearly 126mph on a bad air night with stock tuning, that's not bad at all.
Several people have run 11.20's with stock cars on stock tires on perfect air days with great track prep. Typically high 11's is more of the norm with a crappy track prep. Those of you know me, you know I've logged hundreds upon hundreds of passes at the track on the street. Last night was by far the slickest track I've ever been on, bar none.
I didn't click on the link, but you're probably talking about Ranger's 10.8x @ 130 pass with a stock car '06 Z06 on drag radials after over 50 passes. That was a perfect launch, perfect weather (negative DA), perfect track prep, perfect alignment of the stars and a tailwind. His other passes from that same day were all in the low 11's, the 10 second pass was a one hit wonder that's never been backed up. Don't get me wrong, it's fast and he deserves to be known for it, but it wasn't run on a wet track in deep South Texas in the summer. Apples to oranges.
Like I said before, for pulling a tire smoking 1.97 sixty foot, I'm still happy with an 11.50 for the time being. Is that the best it can do? Noway, this is just the third pass.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention....
Last Saturday I beat an '04 Cobra with full bolt-ons and a Kenne Bell, I mean beat him baaaad... I also smoked an '07 'Busa from a dig at the same time. Yes, it was a 'Busa and no, he couldn't ride it, but a win is a win and I'll take all I can get. Being quick on the street is a bunch different than being quick at the track.
So far the list is up to...
1 Red Supra with a large single - from a roll - bad
1 Black Supra with a large single - roll & dig - bad, bad
1 94 Z28 with a built small block - roll & dig - bad
1 Built Lightning - roll - very bad
1 '04 Kenne Bell Cobra - dig - very bad
1 '07 Busa - dig - bad
All got spaaaanked by the Z06, so it's doing something right.

Re: Took The Z06 To The Track Last Night
The first set of iForged wheels I bought didn't clear my rear calipers, so I ordered a brand new set of chrome iForged Classics in 19x10 & 19x13. They should be here in 2-4 weeks.
Black Z06 + big ass chrome wheels = sick
