I think it is a good step, but standards need to be kept.

NO OFFENSE to anyone, but we might as well take over mexico, a lot of mexicans migrate here for better jobs. We could just bring it to them.

Remember that guy named Hitler that thought his ways were better than everyone and was going to slowly take over the world? Yeah, kinda sounds similar to your thinking here. "Lets just take them over and make them like us. Then they will be happy."

I didnt watch the vid but if anyone has ever been to Mexico and seen the semis, they are dangerous. Cords hanging out of the tires, bent wheels, trailer sides that look like they will fall off at any time.....etc.. They dont require inspections like they do in the US, and after working out of a trucking terminal for the last few months it really makes me realize how important those inspections really are. Pretty scary shit actually, I think this is a stupid move.

I agree, this is a bad deal. So what are the qualifications in Mexico to get a license to drive a semi? I know to buy alcohol you just have to be able to reach the counter to put the money on it. What if they cause accidents and don't have insurance? Just sounds like a really dumb move to me.

Re: US allows Mexican Trucks free access now.

What a terrible idea. They sad in the video that there's a standard of inspecting every truck every time it crosses the border, but I think that'll be prettymuch impossible to do. The video said that in San Diego more than 2000 trucks cross the border daily, and in Laredo, more than 3000 trucks cross daily, so I can't see every truck getting inspected every time with those kind of numbers.
