just ANOTHER awd laser

Hello everyone! I have recently purchased a 92 red awd laser shell, missing: motor/tranny, rear end, and ecu. This is my first dsm to my name. It will be a side project that i hope to get running so i can get out to RF, KK, and the shootout. pics are on the way!

Good luck man, i wish i would have done it that way!! I bought a 96 gsx for $7,000 cash money, but it had a 7bolt in it still and a lot of mods... Well needless to say i am puting about another $2000 or so right now puting a 6bolt block with JE Internals,Eagle Rods, Arps , etc. If you do it right you should not have to spend a ridiculas amount of money to make a AWD Screamer! Yea i thought it was hard but as long as you have a service manual and a dad that has all the tools, anything is possible!

Yikes, I had to buy a few and take them apart before I knew enough to basically build one from scratch. Good luck with the project.

It's been a good 5 years wrenching on dsms for me. I'm not totally new to dsms or cars in general. But one thing for sure i like to ask questions and i will definitely be asking a bunch in the coming weeks.

haha, well, we'll have to see about that. Dare i say, i almost LIKE the way the laser is starting to look.

This runs now...

-topline rebuild kit, stock excluding the new pistons' 8.0:1 compression ratio.
-Bullseye power to4b v-trim turbo, polished compressor and turbine housing.
-lightly ported 2g exhaust manifold.
-custom restored fuel sending unit
-walbro 190
-stock bcs
-4 bolt rear
-ACT 2600 clutch
-lightened stock flywheel
-TRE rebuilt stage 2 with 10% taller 5th gear, I no longer mind going 80 on the highway to keep up with traffic
-97 eagle talon tsi 17 inch "split rims" This is actually a really neat combination on the laser.
-medium sized front mount with 2.5'' charge piping
-crushed 1g bypass compressor valve

will have: front 2 piston big brakes, e-brake, external oil cooling, 2g mas, 550 rc injectors.

I am VERY happy with this car.
