That big of a wire project will make me go crazy for a day or two. It will look very sweet and clean when you are done. Good luck.

P.s are you moving the battery to the back or is it already done?

Nice project. And to think this all started with removing a BCS restrictor in the parkinglot of Elite on the dyno day. Quite a change....

HAHA I forgot about that! That seems like along time ago.
I just went out yesterday and did some more on the wiring. Its gonna be awhile before thats done. Alot more work then I thought, but managable. Next week is my spring break and I took off work as well so I will hopefully get alot done(assuming I get up and actaully work on it)

Re: Project Fast Spyder

UPDATE:
Most have seen the plates and here is an update with pics.
Wiring is mostly done. Im as far as I can go without the engine in the car.
Rear suspension out and gas tank out. I have the 2 front bolts for the gas tank in and working on removing the FWD tank mounting brackets but I broke my drill bit and Im too lazy to go buy another one (right now).
I have everything I need except exhaust and fluids. Here are some pics I just took.
Interior all torn apart.

As you can see I had to drill some holes for the front tank bolts(on the inner side of the seat mounts/holder thingys)

Now for the goods...
2.4l all takin apart just gotta get it machined

Rear subframe and gas tank(yah the garage is a mess get over it )

Hard to see but its a -6 fitting on the fuel sending unit to the pump.

Rear 1/4 shot with no rear parts

Under the car with no tank or rear subframe and 2 front tank bolts in place

This should be going pretty fast now all I have to do is find time to work on it. These last few days have been "top down weather" and Im getting pissed!
Let me know what you think!

Re: Project Fast Spyder

so is it pretty easy to bolt in that rear sub-frame? Or is there some fab involved?

Re: Project Fast Spyder

Lookin' good! Are you doweling the mains on the engine? This is a must if you are putting ARP mains in. It will cost a little bit more for the machining (line honing and installing dowels), but it really should be done. I lost my first rebuilt engine because the engine builder didn't do this.

Re: Project Fast Spyder

Are you finished with the wiring? And why do you have two pairs of tin snips under the car? Problems with the heat shield? Still have a bit to go, but you could pull it off before the leaves start to change color. It's only April. As for finding the time, JUST MAKE THE TIME!!

Re: Project Fast Spyder

All you have to do to install the rear is put some bolt in(holes already there) and bolt it up.

As for the motor. Im not sure if im going to have it dowled yet. probably tho.

The wiring in mostly finished just have to wait to get the engine in to route all the wires where they need to go. The tin snips were for the fuel lines(hard lines) I had to cut them off to get them all the way out.

Im hoping to get this out and running by FOR SURE the end of May. Hopefully ALOT sooner!

Hopefully all the parts are good. I was just thinking that I have no clue on the mechanical condition of the tranny. So hopefully it doesnt grind!

Re: Project Fast Spyder

Yes tease him. Might get him to work on it faster. Wow looking really slick. Are you going to tuck the wires down by the rear Motor mount or how you running them up to the top of the engine? I love to copy your work when I get my car back. I think the wiring in the engine bay is to cluttered.....
