I heard about this either on the radio or tv news. Talk about disturbing and parents who are complete morons. If they can't take care of her, put her up for adoption or something, but don't change how she will grow.

Re: An Ethics read - Pillow Angel Ethics

Wow, that's messed up. I honestly can't believe any doctor would do this, it seems morally wrong.

This is a quote from their website:

"Now nine years old, Ashley cannot keep her head up, roll or change her sleeping position, hold a toy, or sit up by herself, let alone walk or talk. She is tube fed and depends on her caregivers in every way. We call her our “Pillow Angel” since she is so sweet and stays right where we place her—usually on a pillow."

Honestly, if I had a child in this condition, I don't know what I'd do. It would be very hard because obviously you love your child no matter what... but how can you care for her/him, and continue on with life? It seems like taking care of him/her would be a full-time job itself.
