Re: v8klla

What exactly is it doing? Yes it is the easiest of the gears to replace, but you still have to either remov the trans and top cover, or you can do it in car which is significantly harder... As far as price goes I will need to find out which part needs to be replaced.

Re: v8klla

I went to the dealership and they told me the knocking from the tranny was the loudest from the fifth gear area. The tech thought it was some missing teeth in the gears.

If I bring in the tranny how much for labor.

Round about obviously there are always variables, and I understand that.

Re: v8klla

If you bring the tranny in drained of all fluid, you would be talking $30 to inspect 5th gear. To replace it would be from $60-$120 total if it is indeed the problem. However, if it is missing teeth I would recommend going through the rest of it to clean out any metal pieces that may be in there, complete dissembly and reassembly would be around $180.

I think I need to get the tranny off and get it to you. If I stop in do I need to let you know I'm from here.
