GSX vs. T/A

First off I'm not a huge racer or anything. But I will take part in racing events/get togethers.

Well my buddy has a Trans Am and he likes to talk big. So we decided to run our cars tonight. We hit up a long flat road with practically no cars. I've got a gsx so i crushed him on the launch and stayed in front up to 80mph. I think this is a pretty sweet story, considering a tiny little turboed 4cyl took a beefed up v8. anyways, theres muscle vs. import for ya. haha

There is nothing like an AWD launch to put Trans Am, Camaros, Mustangs to shame

Re: GSX vs. T/A

Yep too bad they can catch up and win as well.......?

It all depends on an almost infinite amount of factors.

You can make generalizations, but they are only generaly correct at very best.

Re: GSX vs. T/A

I took a LT1 before in my old car with a slipping clutch. The random person flagging asked if I wanted a head a few lengths. I didn't need that...

I have plenty of story's "racing" misc cars in your car. It pulls strong, Shifts unlike any other DSM I have driven. Could use a little bit of a stronger clutch IMO. Throw a FMIC on there and see what she can do. Have you shortened the shifter yet? Previous owner didn't mind the huge dildo shifter.

Already talking like a long time Cobra owner. Pretty soon you will be saying that the only 'real' racing is from a roll.

Nice race, but a video would be even better.

These "recaps" should really be in the "other" part of the site But then I guess if you can't see that "other" part, you wouldn't know about it huh?

Re: GSX vs. T/A

You should literally blow the doors off the T/A with your GSX. You must be pretty stock though. Anytime I raced last year with my GSX I couldn't even run in the Street Eliminator class where the Trans Ams, Camaro's & Mustangs genearally run. I had to run in King of the Hill. I don't know where the cut off is, 12.99 or 12.50. I was dialed in at 12.00.

I can think of a few hondas that would tear up your mustang... So what's up with that generalization? Sounds sorta hypocritical.

I was joking, guess you didn't get it?

You havn't seen my mustang yet!

In fact I havn't seen my mustang yet!<at least in person, yet!>

Sorry if I offended your sensitive nature.....but comeon....defending hondas now huh?.........

The real Bottomline is that any make or model can beat any other make model on any given day depending the the cars setup and driver, PERIOD!

I LOVE MANY DIFFERENT MAKES AND MODELS OF CARS!!!

There I said it!

Re: GSX vs. T/A

Cool site! Nice to get at least a base to shoot for?

Hmmmm....

Looks like I could hope to be close to the 11 second club, if I get setup right and could ever learn how to drive right?

http://www.dragtimes.com/results.php...arch+DragTimes

Don't know if that will ever happen as I'll have a vert, and I seriously doubt I'll ever be putting in a rollbar.
